  • Buyers beware - subject to the item(s) arriving…. with this firm…

    • +5

If you're buying from China and expecting a week delivery without express then you're new to the game. You need to expect up to 30 business days with free shipping. My orders from these sites typically take 3-4 weeks.

      • That's if they arrive…. and are not "fake"… No problem with the duration if it arrives. As per the statement previously "SUBJECT" to the item(s) arriving at all!

        • +4

There is no such thing as a fake Xiaomi Wiha. Lightinthebox is a reputable NYSE listed company ;)

        • -5

@Clear: They could send you a no name brand article despite the advertised item. Plenty of listed companies are shonky.

        • @deal junkie: I've yet to see fake coming from these guys in the tens of dozens recent deals.

        • @Clear: Well, happy for you on that note that you have not had to deal within the negative end of the firm.

        • +9

@deal junkie: So a Xiaomi supplier was selling a Chinese phone with a dodgy ROM off as the official Global version? LITB acknowledged the problem, offered a replacement or refund while covering the cost of return postage. That's bloody damn good customer service from a Chinese company if you ask me! Completely in line with Australian Consumer Law which they have no obligation to follow.

Sorry but you just painted the company positively in a very good way!

        • +1

          @Clear:

I have to agree, LITB has good customer service and wouldn't sell fakes on purpose.

Also LITB has responsive rep on OzB.

@Clear: Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience with them purchasing a couple of Choetech chargers and they sent an unbranded charger that heated up and an empty box (for the other) from Malaysia. Had to use Ozbargain to try to get it sorted. If you place it on a public forum, they will assist due to reputation. So I must thank Ozbargain for that. Paypal doesn't assist much in the sense that they require you to mail the item back. It was a "non compliant" charger which fails to comply with Australia's policy of sending items back (ie my return address being the sender). If it wasn't for Ozbargain, where I could draft so that anyone could read, they would not have assist. As I had attempted their official routes. I am however very happy that you have not had a bad experience with them. Unfortunately, it isn't the case for everyone - hence the comments. Respect your positiveness for them, but unfortunately my experience differs from yours.

        • +1

@deal junkie: Everyone could share a bad experience with every store out there. No one is perfect.

It's well known that most companies respond much better if you post on public forums. Just look at all the trending posts made on Coles and Woolies on Facebook. It gets trending then the companies go and take action. We have to be thankful that we're able to engage with stores themselves on sites like this.

        • @Clear: isn’t Facebook NYSE listed as well ?
Look where it got them !!

        • Never know, xiaomi starting to be very expensive lately, we can't afford the original

        • +1

@Clear: Never had any problem with Lightinthebox in the past.. For some orders with free shopping, it took 4-6 weeks but it arrived as a "surprise" gift because sometimes we almost forgot about those orders.

        • @deal junkie:

Paypal doesn't assist much in the sense that they require you to mail the item back.

Why didn't you just send it back?

        • If you're worried about placing an order "online" maybe you should contact your bank first to discuss security options.

Purchased exactly this from LITB on 15/3 and literally just arrived today.

      • +2

Came here to say the same thing! No complaints, just a coincidence.

      • Same here. Now just abit better deal

      • Just got the 'collect from post office' txt message today for a set of these, also ordered on 15/03 :)
4-6 weeks is normal for free shipping to WA from LITB, DX, GB etc for me, no complaints.

    • Beware of Light in the Box- deal junkie is correct.

A couple of Ozbargainers including myself have been caught out with the Sharp z2 deal that promised 'ships in 24hrs'. After waiting over a week and contacting them, are told there is a 'shipping fee issue' with no indication of ANY ship date.

Rep here was contacted in my case and no response.

  • are these even good?

    • I'd say they seem to be a decent branded alternative to the iFixIt version.

    • love mine, so much better than the little ones I've had in the past

    • are these even good?

Yes. They're well-made from good steel. The only complaint someone might have is that the slim aluminium handle doesn't allow you to put a whole heap of torque in. Small screws wouldn't normally require that much torque though.

  • Thanks. Anyway got one for $16.96

  • +2

Still haven't received mine from that last time this was posted. But have received multiple shipments from China and the US since then in significantly less time.

I reckon it'd be faster if LITB just chucked their shipments onto a big float and let the ocean currents slowly bring them down to Aus.

  • Link is 404 for me. What's the deal with the intermediate "t.cfjump.com" site?

    • Were you logged out of your OzBargain account when you tried to click? It looks like you got hit by OzBargain's affiliate URL which they serve to guests on this website.

Edit: Yep just tested with incognito. Their affiliate URL is not working.

      • Scotty has been notified. Aff. link disabled now.

        • Cheers. Of course he wouldn't let you guys near it!

      • disabled on the affiliate network for almost a week

Bought this last time, still haven't used it.. Awesome box

    Highly recommend

Like a review on a Chinese site :P

    • Bought a set. Quality gear. I almost don't want to get it scratched in my toolbag - crazy, because it's a ~$20 item. Buying a new set for future presents.

  • OP can i get some help, i ordered with the code but i think i messed up and got charged the normal price

  • Wiha and xiaomi??

  • +1

Can definitely vouch for the quality of this set. Well worth the cash. The bits are magnetised to the case which is a brilliant feature. The cheap sets don't offer that. That and the bits are much better quality.

  • Yea it is an awesome screwdriver set. Great quality and it won't rust on my sweaty hands. Just the handle is a bit too long for twisting.

  • 2 months and still waiting for last delivery. Each ticket logged with customer support just gets a reponse asking to wait longer with a new delivery date.

    • Message their rep here. He's very good.

  • Mine arrived today from the previous deal they had (almost took a month). Quality is good and the tools you get it with are pretty handy if you work on small applications; or if you just enjoy tinkering with things.

    Definitely worth it imho :)

  • Nice robot pic @Clear!

    doggy website lol

    • I guess if you applied it and left your cart then it would count? Perhaps trying a new account.

      • nope, wont let me pay i get an error so i had to leave it

    • I just tried it and it works for me

    • +1

Click on orders and complete the order that way.

If you delete the order you might be able to use the coupon again.

Paypal are having issues with their gateway at the moment, not LITB in this instance. It's an error from Paypal.

      • wont work. so its paypals fault?

        • What did you try? Deleting the order or clicking the complete payment button?

  • what happened to cashrewards for these guys? remember it used to be 5% or so

    • 8% actually from memory. It stopped working around the 14th last month for all affiliate programs from the looks of it (not just CR), same reason i guess it broke in the guest mode.

    • LITB have temporarily disabled themselves on the affiliate networks as the purchase tracking isn't working properly. So Cashrewards and others have removed them as well.

      • fair enough cheers for the reply boys

  • @Clear, your avatar seems to have been replaced with a picture of an alien.

    • Aliens walk among us.

      • No we do not!

Sorry, your coupon has exceeded the maximum limit for usage.

Created a new account, went to use coupon then got the same “coupon has exceeded max usage” message. Oh well maybe next time.

  • Lol paypal blocked me recently cuz they are idiots. So I used my debit for the first time in forever, I was able to buy this but then received a text from my bank saying they blocked my card due to suspicious activity.
