Dell's digitiser is called Dell Active Pen (works with this laptop http://www.gadgetguy.com.au/product/review-dell-inspiron-13-…), and Surface pens are Wacom technology. I don't think they are compatible (uses different technology), but I could be wrong.

Not pointless - delivery is estimated between May 1st and June 8th, so this is good if you need it anytime soon. Plus, it's likely easier to deal with JB than Dell for warranty.

Thought the same but the one you linked to is 4 gig of ram. Only difference. One you link was 848 a few weeks ago. Not a bad little unit. Got it for my mother as she wanted a tablet and a laptop. This worked for both.
I don't like to consider tent based laptops a 2 in 1. If you can't separate the keyboard entirely, it's a laptop with a 360 degree hinge.
