Nikon KeyMission 170 Action Video Camera $197 @ Harvey Norman

100

RRP is apparently $497 apparently $0, but it was on sale at this price in February too.

Can’t comment on whether this is a GoPro killer, so don’t shoot the messenger! Seems like a good deal though.

    Is it better value than the Xiaomi offering?

    • Who yes would like to know how it stacks up to the To.

  • I was looking at this camera after missing out on the GoPro Hero5 from Amazon. There’s a lot of really useful review and comparison videos on YouTube to help you make a decision. They all seem to conclude that;

    Video - good
    Audio - not good
    Software - not good
    Overall - ok

    Nikon abandonware.

  • From the reviews on JB; you can't change the focal length like a GoPro. The battery is built in and drains even when the camera is off. You can't record while the battery is recharging so no good as a dash cam etc.

  • Too many limitations -if it dropped to 100 AUD maybe. Picked up sony hdras50 for $149.95 at Sydney duty free couple years ago - has none of these issues, only annoying parts are no lcd and official mounts are expensive.does good dive footage too. this feels like Nikon relying on their good name. Price is around the last time it was clearing.

    The Nikon action cameras were discontinued last year and written-off by HN. Very surprised some stores still have stock.

    If you are buying something from there, might as well ask them if they can throw a Nikon action camera in there too: They have a $0 cost now.

    They have been used as "gifts" around some stores for a year now, since they dont cost them anything.
