what turntable would you recommend for a beginner?

    • Depends what budget you're on. Pretty much nothing decent under $200.

      • Around. 400 - 500

    • +3

Rega Planar 1 or Pro-Ject Essential III. You'll have them forever.

    • SL1200/SL1210. built like a tank.

    • Pro-ject elemental or Sherwood PM9805(needs new stylus, cheapest recommended is AT95E) are the cheapest turntables that would be recommended. The elemental is probably the better pick and cheaper normally, but you can sometimes get the PM9805 up to 30% off at JB during some of the audio sales.

On top of the turntable, you'll also need a pre-amp, amp and speakers(can get active speakers to avoid purchasing the amp if real tight budget).

  • Damn i spent $250 when this sale was running over easter. Looks like im going to have to take another look i see Kanyes Late Registration is up. Good thing is they dont charge you until it ships Im still waiting on a few records as some are harder to source i guess.

  • I looked at this and was wanting to grab a few, but found (unsurprisingly) that it would just discount the cheaper ones. For example, I had 2 $40 ones and 2 $30 ones in cart. Rather than one $40 and one $30 being the free ones, both $30 ones were. Meant order came to $80 instead of $70 :(

    • Really? It was just 50% off everything I put in my basket. I calculated it because I was going to do separate transactions (e.g. multiple records with same price at the same time) but it made zero difference. You might want to double check.

      • It's really inconsistent.

        If you add a $600 box set and a $50 record, the total is $600, but when I tried 2 x $50 and 2 x $30 records, it was $80.

        • Well thats cos its buy 1 get 1 free not buy 2 and get 50% off. Otherwise everyone would be loading up $600 boxsets and buying with some random $3 7" single.

        • If it is B1G1 then every second record you select is 50% off.

Currently in my cart I have:
          1 x 26
          1 x 28
          1 x 38.25
          1 x 39.

          Total = $67.

If it was B1G1 with cheapest free the total would be $80.

        • @theory:

Hmm… I’ll try again, but that is what I tried last time.

    • i made 3 orders a couple of weeks back and just did another one for 4 records now. Records were $34, $31, $24, $20. Came to pay and total was $58. You pay for the most expensive record then the second most expensive is free, then pay for record 3 and record 4 is free. Rinse and repeat.

      • Ah yes, checks out with my above comment. Thanks!

  • Is there any way to search just the selection available in the promotion?

    • click the link and search in the search bar at the top…

If it shows up at the top of the search results with buy 1 get 1 free next to it, it's part of the promotion..

I just spent way too much money

  • Picked up 3x Bowie and 1x prodigy. Happy with $62 delivered :)

  • Hello,

I have selected 4 vinyl from the buy 1 get 1 free deal, but no discount has been applied. At what stage of the checkout process is the discount applied? Before or after entering your payment card details?

    Cheers

    • After, prior to actually placing the order.

  • Thanks OP, great promotion. Thanks for taking the time to post.

Combine with this for the bargain of a lifetime as they calculate by subtotal.

Works great. Just got 2x $40 vinyl for $20 with the AMAZON20 code and free shipping.

Thank you kwijybo you are a legend!! Used the code and got two vinyls down to $26.99. Both last 1s. Hope they fulfil the order!

This is truly a bargain to be remembered and of a lifetime!!

  • +2

The shipping seems to be free if the subtotal is $50 before the discount is applied.
I've done 2 purchases during this deal, one for $30 another for $40 and both have been with free shipping.

  • Bought a heap of vinyl! Cheers for the post OP

Check the prices on the vinyls you ordered yesterday. Many seem to be discounted to match JB Hifi's 20% off sale. You may still be able to cancel some and repurchase. Good luck!

  • +1

yes the prices of the most of the vinyls in my cart dropped today due to jb hi fi's sale as mentioned above. 60 dollars delivered for 6 records is just completely amazing. i dont have a turntable at the moment. but as a trueozbargainer, i will figure later.

    • That's crazy cheap. Were they $20 each?

      • +1

Most dropped from 29 to 23. Amazon20 applies before this specific vinyl deal applies. Also i chose the free shipping.

        • Yeah didn't qualify for amazon20. Great purchase!

  • Offers expire at 11:59 PM (AEDT) on April 30, 2018 (tonight).

    • Damn you FOMO just spent another pay packet!

    • These are terms for another offer…

  • I am still waiting for them to be delivered to me. Has anyone got their order yet?

    • Just check the order details - you can find when it ships and any relevant tracking details. I've got a few vinyls from my order. Others will be coming tomorrow and next week.

      • Thanks mate. Will do.

This promo is definitely expired now OP. Kinda glad, because it was just too easy to see a couple more albums for just over $30 and click 'buy' :)

I've got a few more shipped in this week and most have arrived in great condition, with the odd corner dings where Amazon didn't quite ship them as securely as they could have. I'm not too fussed though considering the price paid.

I've also received a few special coloured vinyl editions where there was no indication they'd be special editions when ordering, which is a bonus!
