    Sorry, mate. Checks here

    • There are always multiple posts of Coles or ww deals.

  • Maybe we can add the table into TA's post?

  • Oh, not that kind of magnum. :(

  • +13

I believe this post can co-exist with TA's post. TA's was good in that it provided an early look at the catalogue, and this post is good for people who want a formatted list of just the 1/2 price specials.

    • +3

I much prefer these … just now where’s the woolies and IGA specials? Hunting for a few things atm.

    • -7

Technically it's not a duplicate if the items from the other deal's title aren't in this deal's title.
IMO photos of supermarket catalogues should be in the forum and not posted as a deal, someone always posts a markdown table of the specials.

      • +5

I would like to see the catalogue as soon as someone has it, these tables are ALOT of work so both posts have there purpose. I will usually pick the best item of the week as a solo post but will always upvote the full post.

I too would like to see the catalogue as soon as someone has it. Especially when the photography is as captivating as tightarse’s.

I have no objection to the table, but I’m skipping it and reading the catalogue. Some of the best deals are not a 50% discount and so would not qualify for the “half price specials” table — for example, Moccona 400g at $14 is not half price but is still the cheapest it gets (just an example, it’s not actually on at Coles this week).

          @pba:
Moccona 400g at $14 is a 47% discount off the regular price of $26.40. I do include specials which are almost 50%, so this would be included. I wonder if I should have a bonus section for 40 - 49% discounts.

        • @Samwise Gamgee: Thanks, you’re right. I didn’t realise the regular price was so expensive!

I had tried to do a quick check of the RRP before commenting, in an attempt to not make a fool of myself, and got Woolworths’ $24.

        • @Samwise Gamgee: A notables section at the bottom can work.

Could of just posted it under his then?

      • +1

I don’t know what the best way to do it is, but I don’t think this is such a terrible suggestion.

Surely there’s merit in having the conversation about the catalogue on one page for one deal rather than split over two deals. On the other hand, multiple deals has the benefit of reappearing near the top of page 1 and more people will see it if they missed the first time.

      • +1

If I were to propose the format it would be:

        1. An intro from tightarse about the sneak peek at next week’s specials.
        2. An apology from tightarse about the supposedly “average” quality photographs.
        3. The phrase “SPOILER ALERT”.
        4. 40 blank lines.
        5. The brilliantly formatted table containing the highlights from the catalogue.

That way I could read the catalogue and remain in suspense about whether the back page contains more items that have been discounted to half of their usual price.

I’m just kidding. Unless everyone else thinks it’s a good idea…then please do it.

  • Associated or just super fan?

    Thanks Savas.

  • Magna is the correct plural. Just sayin'.

  • Thanks OP.

  • The Peckish rice crackers are perpetually on special it seems. Love the cheddar cheese ones.
