    It is expensive………

They are expensive, but still the best lights on the market, also their warranty is great. Had a bulb fail on me last week, filled in their online warranty form and got a new bulb shipped and delivered to me within 5 days. I am guessing they have a history of your bulb use and any sudden disconnections of bulbs, since they didn't ask for proof of faulty bulb (since they ask for your LIFX account email).

      • I have 10 Ikea bulb installed at least five years ago. Each year it is used for at least 360 days. Each day at least 11 hours. It is around 19,000 hours. Unfortunately five of them failed around 1 years ago, which means they all last at least 16,000 hours. The rest five still on and more than 19,000 hours now and counting. LED lights are supposed to be very long lasting.

It's usually not the LED part that fails, its the rest of the electronics within the bulb. Unfortunately LIFX are quite complex, and it is the 1st gen LIFX bulb that failed for me. My third gen has been good so far. And for the warranty they replaced my 1st gen with the 3rd gen.

      • Mmmm I had a bulb that failed within the 1st week I received them. Had to do a warranty with them which took quite a few emails and sending in diagnostics tests that they probably went through to see the issue. Got a new bulb shipped to me after they determined it was faulty. Personally for the price, Id pay this much to get them over the xiaomi just for the convenience of the warranty and also 0 lag response from app to phone =)

Below is all the communication I had with them… literally after that I got a tracking email and that was it.

          What's going on?
Turned light on at the switch, heard a cracking sound and the light won't turn on. (Two lights on the same switch, the other light still works fine)

At least it has HomeKit out of the box. I have lots of LIFX colour bulbs but you wouldn’t know it because they don’t have HomeKit and no one can be bothered using the LIFX app.

      • I have two of the older LIFX bulbs, and I’m using them with Google Home Minis. You link the LIFX account with the google home app and all works well. Changing brightness and colour too.

        • I could buy a google home mini, I think OK google app for iPhone is simple enough. I’d still want the HomeKit Manuka controls though. I don’t have a spare Mac for home bridge

        • @AustriaBargain:

I got two of the Minis late last year when they had the two for $78 specials.

I love my original lifx colour, would love to spread it around the house. Good price at $40 a pop.

Add to cart button is broken? Working for anyone else? Tried in Chrome and shudders IE.

    EDIT: Nevermind, it eventually worked.

    • I am having the same issue when trying to buy the bayonet ones. How did you manage to get it to accept?

      • Just kept clicking the cart button and refreshing the page until it went through :)

    • How come its $40 a bulb? Please explain. As to me it looks like $45.

      • Sorry rush typo, $45 is correct. Still a good price especially compared to competitors like Philips.

  • As someone that has 58 Downlights in his house, and probably another 20 plus others, I can't fathom spending that much on a single globe!

They definitely aren't affordable as a whole house solution. I recommend placing them in your most used areas. For example, I use mine in my bedroom and have it turn on at 6am with my alarm to a 100% white which helps me wake up so much easier. It auto turns off and on as I arrive at and leave home.

    • 20 Siri controlled coloured dimable downligjts would be awesome tho.

  • I am very happy with my original LIFX Colour 1000.. Yes the bulbs are quite pricey but definitely worth considering through a sale like this. Much more convenient than Philips Hue as you don't need hubs, these can work on their own.

This thing cost you a lot of power in the long run on stand by
About 1 watt per hour on stand by 17-20w of wastage standing by each day where Phillips is zigbee and it takes a fraction of that power for standing by

I have both Phillip and LIFX I found Phillips to be more reliable and less drop out than LIFX wifi … LIFX also takes up one wireless spot on your wifi so as you have more and more of this most home router can’t handle that many wireless connection you have to go corporate style wifi

I have 10 LIFX and about 20-25 other wireless devices and my routers start to have issues

    • +2

1st Gen LIFX has high power consumption at standby, newer ones are far less. LIFX doesn't rely on a hub that's why it takes up a wifi spot. You just need a better router to handle more devices. What I hate about philips is how dim they are compared to a LIFX.

    • It says in the product description that it uses < 0.5W on standby. That's damn efficient considering it's connected to wifi, and on par with other energy-efficient devices in standby mode.

Philips and other bulbs are not going to be much better for energy consumption on standby mode.

  • Saying I can only add 1 LIFX A19 in to my cart when choosing B22 :(

    • +2

All working now - thanks OP got my two :)

  • +1

    Awesome grabbed 2 b22

  • I'm waiting for the Philip Hue promotion :-)

  • +1

    Thanks OP! Just ordered two.

Already have two of the older LIFX bulbs plus a Xiaomi Yeelight around the house, this will help voice enable all the lights we use of an evening :-D

  • B22 bayonet fittings look to be out of stock :/

Darn shame because that's the fitting I need. I've been waiting for the Mini Dusk to Dawn B22 to come back into stock, and would've bought this deal instead but also out of stock!

    • In stock now. Received an email.
      EDIT: Sold out again :(

  • For anyone wondering… no, you cannot stack the LIGHTMEUP code with the 10% off referral code.

  • B22 out of stock. Damn I bought three recently and want another two. Guess I missed out on this offer :(

  • +2

Good deal, cheers op. Bought screw fitting and will get an adaptor where required. Already got 2 of the older ones and I reckon they're some of the best electronics I've ever purchased.

  • Where do you enter the coupon code??

edit: ah it's in the credit card checkout.. can't do it when paying with PayPal I think.
edit 2: check out with credit card, and in there you can also select PayPal too.

  • Why did I miss on this one? Can you bring it back quickly for two minutes please? :D
