  • The $100 boxes in previous years have been good but it looks like they only have $30 boxes this time round.

    • Probably release more on the date?
      Usually 'limited' supply.

    • $30 boxes? Where did you find that info?

      • I thought the $30 box of fun was the mystery box.

        • Ah. That's one of the boxes, released early. Also, it's not part of the Starlight Foundation.

For reference, here are the contents of last years' boxes -

      • damn not the best value

got the xbox box last year.
I sold a copy of halo wars 2 that came packaged with my xbox to fund it.
I got the deluxe version of halo wars 2 from the box, kind lol moment. I never got around to selling it again and havent played it since.

    • For $1K you'd expect it came with a switch.

I love how the PS4 discs didn't even come with covers. I wonder if they just went through the warehouse and said "this will do"

Sounds like a "fun" way to clear their hard-to-sell items.

Lots of samples that can't be sold at retail as well

I went to Supanova in Melb a couple of weeks ago and there was a seller there who were just doing mystery boxes (and not cheap either). No indication of the types of things you'd get, just a general theme (eg Star Wars, Gaming etc).

The place had mystery boxes stacked in a double booth completely full. It was almost empty by the end of the weekend.

Maybe I'm too old to spend my money on a box which could be absolute crap.

  • The " for the time being" link goes no where.

  • The email has the themed boxes listed.

    Also mentions the $5,000 box.

  • Still nothing available.

  • It's online now. The $5000 box is gone in an minute.

Lol, all the $50 gaming boxes gone.

  • +1

Yep, the PlayStation and Xbox $50 boxes were gone within 10 minutes.

  • This event is for CHARITY
Lets remember that even though we are can BUY a Mystery box , the money for the Mystery boxes are going to STARLIGHT.
Its not like EB are selling items and keeping the money.
EB and there suppliers are donating the items whether its overstocked items, sales items, samples etc, and the money they receive for those items is then donated to the Starlight charity.
So lets not be disappointed about what we receive, if you happen to purchase a Mystery Box
I myself donated at the local store yesterday and purchased a Mystery box online this morning.
Its a wonderful charity that EBGAMES have supported for many years now.

    • Look we all know it's a wonderful charity however it would be so much better if they aligned themselves with a company that isn't so shady and despicable. Until that happens there will always be speculation around EB's motivations to do the Starlight week, they certainly profit from this and I don't just mean through good PR either.

  • My packages just got sent.

    • Same. Can't wait to open up the $25 "Mystery" mystery box.
