Don't worry, nobody will notice yours. :)

Aficionados will recognise the reference. It refers to the second time the bean cracks during roasting.

Oh, I thought the business was run by two former plumbers.

The Brazil beans weren't half bad, pretty good beans and what you'd expect.

I really was impressed by the Sumatra Wahana Estate ones, will be good if there is a deal on those.

  • good price for 3kg. but how do i get a sample taste before I commit to such a large order

    • +2

Tricky one.. Unless you are in my area.
You'll have to take a leap of faith otherwise:)

I think he is referring to smaller size sample packs.

You have 5 flavours, not counting decaf because that's not real coffee.

As a suggestion: 5x 200g sample sizes so people can sample your flavours before investing in a larger order.

Just placed my first order for 1KG Dark Roast Brazilian…… :)

  • love your stuff, but man, 1kg is too much before it starts going stale (and I have 3 a day).
Been ordering from CS lately because they ship 250g bags

    • What is CS?

      • Coffee Snobs. Another good roaster. We're spoiled for choice.

    • I'd say a month or so after roasting to get them at the peak. Maybe switch your basket for a triple :)

      • 1 month? That's a long time mate! It's normally 7 days (you even told me on email ;))

        • I think you're getting mixed up with time to wait after roasting? I always recommend waiting 5-10 days after roasting before getting into them.

          Cheers

        • @Twocrackscoffee:

yeah isn't that what you were talking about? That's what I was talking about. I'm confused :S

        • @beatsntoons: I thought you were referring to the length of time the beans will be at thier best. In this case then a month or so after roasting :) that gives you approx 3 weeks of coffee at its peak

  • is it the Braziian one as that comes up as $35 a kilo. keen to try. How do I get the deal

    • same here $35 ?

Just send a paypal payment to the email address with your details and what you want.
They ship pretty fast, impressed with service so far.

Just ordered another kg of decaf, thought it was a bit burnt at first, but I guess since the decaffeination process strips out a lot of the "oily stuff" it makes sense.
When ground fine, it actually tastes pretty good for decaf

  • hi, placed an order but doesn't seem to have any confirmation. ordered a 2kg dark roast last night.

    • Hi. Thanks for your order. I'll supply tracking number in the next day or so.
      Cheers :)

  • Thanks TCC! I received my package before I bothered to check tracking info.

  • Not sure what coffee I received but it does not look like dark roasted beans….they were a light brown in colour.

I had ordered 1KG of the Brazilian dark roasted.

After dialling in my new grind to obtain exactly 30ml per shot the crema was fine but the resultant coffee taste had very little flavour.

To be honest I am disappointed with this coffee, either I may have received the wrong order or this coffee just is lacking in flavour for me, my wife also was not keen noting a weak taste too.

I normally order & drink Espresso Master coffee beans by Baybeans, maybe I expected too much or maybe I did not receive the correct beans?

    • Mine came today, but yet to try it. Hope I am not disappointed as it doesnt sound positive your comments. It should be correct if it says dark brazillian roast you would assume.

    • Hi there - if it says Brazil - Minas Gerais on the bag then its the dark roast Brazlian.
It has plenty of flavour and will deliver on this. With so many variables at play its hard to know why you are not getting nice shots out of it.
I would always leave my coffee at least a week before grinding and brewing. The flavour does develop in the bag.
Try in a couple of days and let me know:)

      cheers
      TCC

  • Ok Will leave the coffee for a few more days & try gain.
    Thanks for response.

Definitely says Brazil - Minas Gerais on the bag.

    Regards,

    • OK - it may not be like the dark roasts that you are used to - as in with my roasts the beans are not taken to within an inch of their lives! :)
This roast was taken to the start of 2nd crack and then dropped. This will still give you the darker roasted flavour but will also still preserve some of the fruit acidity that is so desirable in coffee , especially these days.
Happy to roast darker for you though:)

      cheers

  • Ill let yoy guys know how I go. Should be fine for me, but my partners a coffee snob, so may not be to her liking, but that juat maybevthe type.

We are happy with our dark roast Brazil. Would probably agree not as strong a flavour as the blends we have had from our local supplier. Still worth it I think for the saving and to try another supplier. Nothing at all wrong with it. Our taste buds should adapt to the new blend.
