GeekBuying Not Honest

I ordered this on the 20/4/2018.

It has not been sent yet because they don't have any. There is no mention that they are on back order in the advert. If it had been I would have purchased elsewhere. I feel I have been deceived and I'm obviously not the only one.

Within a couple of minutes of placing the order I emailed them and asked if I could change the order to include the voice remote. About 2 minutes later I send another email asking them to ignore my last email and send me what I had originally ordered. (I'm a silly old man : ) I was impressed that they then emailed me back to confirm my selection.

What I was not impressed about was this - Thank you for shopping at Geekbuying OK we got what you mean , and once the item is available, we will help you ship out immediately

I have emailed them asking for a refund, with no reply. I mentioned it to Clear in this thread and have not heard back.

I have been trying to buy a new Android box since early February :( and am still at least a month away from getting one, after being stuffed around by GearBest and now been deceived by GeekBuying.

That would be because it was on Sunday. Like all other Chinese stores, GeekBuying do not operate on a Sunday so my messages aren't actually read until today.

However, it's a national holiday today and tomorrow in China due to Labour Day. I have messaged Customer Service management directly and currently waiting on a response, but due to that holiday I may not here back.

Who said that they didn't have any? Geek have always advertised 2-7 business days for processing from time of order.

"Who said that they didn't have any"

They did in the reply email as i showed above. "once the item is avliable ,we will help you ship out immedidately *

Mate, you should read what i have already posted. I ordered it on the 20th. 10 days ago!

      They obviously don't have it.

I will clarify this with them.

Business days. A weekend or public holiday is not classed as a business day. Therefore today is the 7th day.

I have sent a message to their manager directly through social media requesting that it be looked at ASAP. I'm sorry but it's the best I can do given the circumstances.

You seem to be needing an item urgently, and have had trouble with the online Chinese stores meeting your needs.
    Perhaps buy locally?
To get the cheap prices from China, you need to accept patchy service and issues like the attempted partial refund you encountered at Gearbest.
For this reason, a lot of people find it isn't worth the hassle to deal internationally to save $5.

What doesn't help is accusing stores of dishonesty, when what you mean is they haven't done exactly what you want.

What is it about… "once the item is avliable" you don't understand. Do you take that to mean it is available?

The ad for the item made no mention of it being on backorder and it is still being advertised in that way.

You might accept being stuffed about, i don't. I have been buying bargains from Chinese stores for many years, thanks to OzBargainers and never had a problem. Never had a Paypal dispute or dispute of any kind before.

I'm only speaking up to inform others.

      • Lol. If you can't understand that they usually won't hold hundreds of every item and instead order them as needed then ship I suggest you buy in Australia.

Buying from a Chinese website is typically a purchase and forget transaction. Then when it pops up unexpectedly, it is like Christmas in summer.

    • Christmas is in summer?

      • +1

we live in the southern hemisphere. xmas is always in the summer.

    • That has not been my previous experience. As i stated previously, i have made heaps of purchases over the years and they usually take a month or so to arrive. Seems to me that people with little or no experience are commenting.

That should be good for a couple more negs. : )

  • I have been chasing them for weeks for a refund, due to a pricing error. They never notified me there was an error and just didn't send the item. It's now been weeks, and having to go back and forth with PayPal ass GB haven't processed the refund. Pretty slack. Don't recommend them at all!
