  • Anyone know if the keyboard is the rechargeable battery & backlit version? Thanks!

    • At this price I would prefer Eneloop to some unknown inevitably low quality built in battery.

  • +4

Runs on AA batteries and Not backlight, not a deal for me.

    • AAA batteries. Good if you have some spare Eneloops or LADDAs ;)

    • -1

      Ugh. Thanks for the info

    • Not much of a deal if it's not the backlit one with inbuilt battery.
I have the normal backlit one without built in battery; that's the minimum one worth getting imo.

  • ordered one for my father ta

  • +1

Don't need backlight, and the KB layout looks good.

    Thanks OP.

  • Thx Op.

  • Thanks OP, good deal …bought one (for $15.00 :-( ) before few months…

  • Can I use this on my existing smart TV?

    • Depends on the smart TV. If it's Android OS and already works with a wired keyboard/mouse then it should work.

  • +2

I recently ordered an Android box from Geekbuying. Seems they don't have any in stock, and will send it when they do, whenever that might be. There was no mention of them being on backorder in the advert. I am really pissed off to find that out as i would not have made the purchase if they had been honest about not having any. Grrrr

    • What's your order number? Did Geek say it was on backorder?

      • No they did not.My order number is #4542796.

        This is the advert..https://www.geekbuying.com/item/MECOOL-M8S-PRO-L-3GB-32GB-Android-7-1-Amlogic-S912-KODI-17-3-4K-TV-BOX-802-11AC-WIFI-Bluetooth-LAN-HDMI---Black-386124.html

        • Thanks I'll look into it.

        • Did you order a heat sink and some [thermal adhesive] (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Halnziye-HY910-5g-Silicone-Therm…) with it?

I got a MECOOL-M8S-PRO-L about 4 weeks ago and moded it straight after I confirmed it worked. The new heat sink still gets quite warm.

          More info here.

Dont get me wrong - its a great little box. Netflix @ 1080p, H265 and H264 off the NAS with no worries. I am dual booting libreelec kodi and the stock android for netflix. Works great, just gets hot and the stock heat sink is not really good enough.

        • @grrrr:

I'm aware they get hot. Thanks anyways. I'm putting a 40mm fan in mine, if it ever arrives, and I will do a much nicer job of it than the bloke in the video. ; )

  • Does this work with MacBook

    • Yes.

  • Does it work with Lg Smartv?? Replies are appreciated.. thanks in advance

  • Thanks OP. Just bought one. Seems like a better solution than the wireless KB and mouse I currently use.

  • features a button to open the browser home gape

This the backlit one I got of Aliexpress, which came with BL-5C battery, although different supplier, http://bit.ly/2HyNwOw.

A bit cheaper on Ebay, http://bit.ly/2Hz9VLD.

  • Have one of these. Doesnt come with instructions. Still can't figure out how right click

    • +1

Look at this image and you'll see left and right click at the bottom of the touchpad at either side.

      • Doesn't look like this one includes the lithium battery, BL-5C.

        • +1

          That's what the description says.

        • +1

I have a couple of similar ones, and they both have the lithium battery.

You can also power them with AAA Batteries.

I am going to take a guess and say because it shows a micro USB port on the keyboard,
used for charging the lithium battery, that it does include a lithium battery.

        • @xev: USB port can be for hard-wiring kb to pc.

I can't see a mention of a battery in the package of the cheaper one posted by stebie. I would check with supplier to make sure. I would choose a supplier that shows the BL-5C in the description and a photo.

I tried to buy some batteries off a Malaysian Ebay seller for my son who has the non-backlit one. They never arrived so I got my money back. I wonder if they were stopped by customs. It could be a pain/expensive to get a battery separate.

  • Any deals on a candybar/one handed style remote?

  • does it work with lg smart tvs?

  • Clear, can you hook us up with the backlit version? :)

  • I placed an order on 21 April 2018. Order has not yet been dispatched. Can someone please tell me about their experience receiving their orders from Geekbuying? So far I can tell it is very slow. Geekbuying responded to my email in 2 days and advised that they intend to dispatch my order within this week, did not specify which day that would be.

  • they used to be good but all this anti chinese sentiment has ruined oz pricing. Discount codes have dropped markedly on higher priced items.

    Can't blame em.

    • +1

…all this anti chinese sentiment has ruined oz pricing.

      What are you on about???

      • 'Following Mr Turnbull’s announcement of the new laws, Australia was voted “the most unfriendly country” to China in 2017 in a poll of about 14,000 Chinese citizens conducted by the tabloid Global Times, which is owned by the People’s Daily'

"The country's unhealthy political environment prompts its politicians to play the China card. Apparently, the above cannot be altered in the short run, and will exert long-term negative effects on Sino-Australian ties," it said. Feb 2018

ozbargain april fools chinese hack etc etc blah blah blah.

if you think anti chinese behaviours don't effect import pricing here please explain why.
