    It depends on your voice, and it is usually a good idea to test your voice on mics if you want to use this for singing. If it is just for speaking. This will do the job no problem. This mic is every bit as good as a Shure SM58(industry standard) IMO. We used a 845 and a 945 on our recordings along with some Shures too. I prefer Sennheisers myself, where the other singer prefers Shures. It's always going to depend on your tonal qualities as to which resonates with you better, but in terms of quality. Great mic, Sennheiser have always made good ones(German made).

    It's a super cardiod mic, so this means it is good for live performances, as it won't pick up sound that far away from the mic itself (you'll need to keep your mouth rather close to it).

    For price reference, this is about $20 cheaper than normal.
