Bodum Bistro Electric Lime Green Adjustable Burr Coffee Grinder $29 @ Peter's of Kensington

530

Selling for around $130 elsewhere.

Unfortunately only vomit green colour on sale but for the price guess it'd be okay if you're after a burr grinder and have cupboard space to hide it when not in use.

Reviews suggest this wouldn't be suitable for espresso as it doesn't grind fine enough but okay for stovetop or plunger coffees.

Glass bean funnel with lid.
Equipped with a conical burr grinder.
Twelve adjustable grind settings - from fine powdered espresso to coarse French press.
Anti-static glass container for ground coffee.

I was looking at this as a dedicated spice grinder (not a fan of fennel flavoured coffee) but not sure I can get past the colour.

  • I kinda like the green, though it wouldn't match anything.

Won't work well. You're better off getting dual blades rather than conical burr.

If only they sold cinnamon in a fine powdered form.

      • Yeah. Where would you get that?

Gives new meaning to coarse French press.

    • Grindr without the e ;)

according to the reviews… doesn't grind fine enough for espresso

    • Can confirm, its finest grind is actually quite coarse.

Looks like a good deal with price BUT according to reviews, this product is discontinued, doesn't grind fine enough, makes a mess and is noisy. Some mentioned that the plastic deteriorates.

  • so who ozb.. i went to chekcout and removed…sad face..

  • Already sold out.

  • Sorry I think I just got the last one, ordered it and it went through - then went to send the link to a friend and it said SOLD OUT. I'm going to use this for cold brew, which is ground coarser than espresso. Anyone else used it for this purpose?

    • +1

No but it's hard to mess up immersion brewing so you'll be fine

You underestimate my ability to ruin simple things.

        • I believe you can ruin things, I do. Don't know how, but I do.

  • Dang it, missed out. Been keeping an eye out for cheap burr grinder.

    • betturr luck next time.

      • This pun is burrtter…

  • I've got one for when we go away for long weekends (not taking the bigger grinder).
Nice size, grinds well enough for French press, but wouldn't make espresso/ristretto with it.
