TEAC LE65A4E3UHD 65" UHD LED TV $699 (~ $560 w/Discounted Gift Cards) + Shipping @ Catch (Club Catch Required)

50

Not sure on quality but surely couldn't be worse than the Big W ones.

Shipping seems to range from $15.95 to $63.95, which you can also use the gift cards to pay for. (Note: Can't use gift cards to purchase Club Catch)

I've seen from previous deals that you can use more than the maximum '5' gift cards that Catch states, however not sure what the real maximum is.

If you plan on purchasing the TV and haven't used catch before, remember to use a referral link as this will take a further $10 off the TV after you purchase Club Catch.

I would go for Aldi 65" for same price on sale this saturday. Atleast you get 60 days satisfaction guarantee.

This is ~$140 cheaper though if using the 20% off gift cards from woolies.

      • Aldi one also has YPbPr output, optical out and an extra USB port, though they don't say if its wall mountable (though id assume so).

Personally with the last Teac i bought i was less than thrilled with their USB playback and recording was pathetic (though that was 8 years ago, they may have improved it but still once bitten twice shy)

        • The 49" i bought from Aldi im mounted to the wall, I would say the 65" would follow the same pattern.

        • Both probably have a 50Hz refresh rate, so that's one thing to watch out for.

Comes down to $448 if you can buy $700 gift card with a double 20% off :-P

  • How long until we see HDR 65" under 1k?

    • +1

But then I will just want 75 inch 4k HDR under 1k.. then 85 then 95 then 100..the list goes on infinitely until we become the screen until we become the reality… bsshhhrshhshshhsoowoashhahwhjsjwooshh

      • Very true.

To be fair, as a 65" owner, I wouldn't replace it with less than 75" if it broke on me and I needed a new TV.

I don't want to upgrade, until 85" though, which is 3+ years before it's sub $2000 for HDR 4k :(

85' Your lounge must be gigantic!

        • +1

Very depends on how far you can put it away from your sofa. 85" is too big if you have only 3-4 meters.

BTW this TEAC is not the original anymore, right? They are now just like generic.

        • +1

@superforever: so what is the current ideal distance from tv to sofa? still like ages ago ? (i remember like twice the tv diameter)

        • @Carpe Diem: It's TINY - it's only 8.5' across, maybe 9.5 at most, but I want a BIG BIG ass TV, cinema experience.

I sit exactly 7' from my 65" (and that's my eyeballs, not my legs)
          Big or bust.

        • @dragonindespair: Look up the THX spec on distance and resolution, it's actually much closer than you think.

    • How long until we see HDR 65" under 1k?

This is 65" just below 1K : 65E17US TCL 65" 4K Ultra HD Smart TV

      • I stand lay down corrected.

  • Argh! Didn't look at the expiry date of this deal. Just bought the cards today.
