  • Anyone able to find the product specs? 100hz or 50? LCD is a + and the price is great. even if the image isnt the best. But if the frame rate is bad maybe best to avoid it.

You can overcome these issues buy checking out the TV in store.. if its good +1 if not no harm done saves you wasting $500

  • Yeah, I can't seem to find much info on Okano or this TV specs which is a worry.
Response and refresh rates are crucial to getting good gaming video quality and I would need to find the detailed specs before I commit to purchase. Maybe the salesman can help me?

  • Helpful sales guy at JB told me that it is equivalent to a : Soniq QSL422XT
Because I know I'ts a rebranded Soniq. If so, specs seem fine. Will go and see it with my own eyes before I buy.
That extended warranty may be well worth it considering the fault rate with some of these units.

    • still no word on the refresh rate.. but sif it'll be anything but 50Hz anyway

  • +2
    • Apparently is 120Hz

  • So much guessing involved, but if that's the case it might be really good at this price.
I wanna go into JB and demand that I can see the manual/specs for confirmation before I buy.

  • Bought a 42" LCD Okano 3 weeks ago. We went on holidays for two of those weeks. Have used tv for 1 week, we turned the unit slightly as it does swivel and heard a crack noise we could not see anything my wife turned around to walk back to the lounge and tv fell to the floor. The round piece that connects the tv to the stand broke. Spoke to JB HIFI and that is not covered under warranty, just had a call from JB asked me to bring it in….keep tuned

  • rocsta, just wondering how you went?? We have also just experienced the same issue with ours. The round piece connecting the TV also broke on ours.
We will obviously have to call them tomorrow. Wont be happy if they tell us the base is not part of the warranty.
    Will update tomorrow :/

  • Was just checking the recalls website and The Okano 42" HDTV has been recalled for it's faulty tv stand.
