    WoW! Good price!

  • Can you put the specs in the description?

  • Wot

  • Come on, thats the price of a very good computer already.

    • +1

Come on, it's a very nice monitor

      • +1

Yeah, I've got the Predator and it's great. Wish Dell would make a less 'extreme' version of these though (similar to how their 3417 looks)

    • It's no ordinary monitor.

    • Yeah but after you have the good computer you buy this.

    one day…

  • Oh. I want!

  • Geez that's a good price.

Massive monitor, massive specs, massive price. SeemsGood.

    • Freesync though

      • Benq has freesync - AMD FreeSync™ technology eliminates image tearing, broken frames, and choppy gameplay for incredibly fluid gaming. And with 100Hz refresh rate to bring out an ultra-smooth gaming experience, EX3501R is the gamer’s dream monitor.

        • +1

Sorry, I meant that it has freesync and not gsync - where as this monitor has gsync

    • I'd be wary of "not 10bit HDR implementation" because that sounds suspiciously like not HDR.

Unfortunately HDR is very poorly implemented on Windows ATM.

Probably worth noting it is 100hz (or 120hz overclocked, not sure why there is a distinction)

    • It's 100hz out of the box but you can set it to 120 within the menus

      • +2

seems strange not to just set it to 120hz out of the box is what I mean

    • It means you are buying a 100Hz monitor that may overclock to 120Hz. From reading about the place it seems that most will overclock to 120Hz but you may get less.

      • Never heard of this monitor not being able to achieve 120htz but thank you for clarifying.

  • How does this square up against the Asus PG348Q?

What I do know is Dell's packaging is better. It's a good idea to keep it for moving day.

    • I'm guessing that image quality is roughly the same, but the stand and ambient lighting are different.

I personally dislike the Asus ambient lighting which is a logo under the stand aimed downwards and the Dell's ambient looks nicer although it is unfortunately integrated with the stand rather than the monitor itself meaning you will lose it if you mount the monitor.

  • Purchased this about 2 months ago for $1680 off Dell. Took about a month to come due to stock issues.

Colour accuracy right out of the box is a bit off so there needs to be some adjustments made (only thing I dislike about it but once you adjust it, it's a perfect monitor) / and make sure to crank the refresh to 120hz.

Gaming is a dream on this thing. Definitely needs a beefy GPU to take advantage of the monitor (recommended GTX 1080 / GTX 1080 Ti).

    • Did you need to alter your gamma? I think there's a setting in windows to change it but it's not on the monitor's menu apparently.

      • +1

Gamma is fairly high compared to other monitors. My old monitor was very accurate gamma/colour wise (also a Dell but for professional use).

I adjusted many things around - took quite a while to actually get it right) and the end result I was fairly happy with (well my eyes were happy anyway).

        • Hi there, i also have professional dell monitor right now and it has great colour and gamma settings so i am very picky. I just purchase this monitor just wondering if you can send me details on what you change and what you changed it too.

        • @proddorp:

Not really do-able because every AW34DW monitor is different. You can't use one person's setting for another monitor even if it's the same model.

I have been stalking this for a while, been talking to reps for months and the lowest I've been able to get it to (for my business) was $1,678.

Dell also has an amazing 3 year warranty.

    Thanks OP!

Is your business in the E-Sports industry?

      • +1

Hahaa fair call, no it's not. I've only been able to achieve a lower quote from Dell by quoting my ABN - so that's why I mentioned that

  • Is the extra $500 justified over the x34? 20Hz

    • X34 doesn't have swivel and is not as curved as the AW34DW.

I'd prefer the X34P (which is very similar to the AW34DW) over the X34. If you don't use swivel, then X34 should be okay.

Compare the reviews it really just depends on a number of things, do you have the GPU to run it… are you gaming with it RTS or FPS?

  • +1

Funny i spoke to the rep 2 days ago the best he could do was 1700….

    • $1678ish right?

      • Nah exactly 1700 rep wouldn't budge …

  • tempting. A little cheaper than the x34p which is almost identical.

  • +1

Just purchased………now to sell my soul.

  • Its fricken tempting must resist have an overlord 110hz 27 inch ips 2560x1440.. just had problems tho.. bought that for 300
    Cant justify the 1500

    • Yeah that sounds a lot better. I mean honestly at this price I would probably just buy the smallest 4k curved TV I can find and be done with it.

      • Except the TV won't do 120hz, if you just want 4k then obviously you can find a lot cheaper alternatives

      • And no G-Sync.

        • oh and you forgot about the input lag =O
