Probably a good idea naming the airports for those not too sure with the accronyms.

      seriously ?

      • he is joking

I realised that when he spelled 'accronyms' incorrectly…

Yeah I had to look up ZQN, but guessed the rest were all NZ.

      But for those who don't
      CHC - Christchurch
      ZQN - Queenstown
      WLG - Wellington
      AKL - Auckland

I wouldn link to a map, but tbe country has disappeared.

    Too expensive…

If that was a return fare, it would be a bargain.

considering Jetstar recently had a sale with return flights from $169 - these one way prices are extremely average.

Too expensive. Not a deal cuz.

  • Trying to get some of their ppl back?

  • +1

flight deals are always trickey when trying to turn into bargains … select times, limited number of seats, hidden extra booking fees …. not like the tgg if they have cheap toasters for $20 ….. “think i will get one” and you just get it for the advertised price.

  • Wonder if these flights in May & June -> cancel & reschedule. I wouldn’t trust their schedule at least for another few months

  • flew with them on a syd-akl route a few months ago. our planned 787 service was pulled for service so we flew in a wet hired plane from hi fly. polite cabin crew but the plane felt more like jetstar class than air nz.

our return trip was code shared with virgin. it was a frustrating experience with checking in bikes due to their enforcement of luggage allowances, whereas others like qantas are more reasonable to deal with.

i wouldn't fly with this mob again unless their price was spectacular, and even then, i would find it hard to see air nz/virgin in the same class as qantas

tldr: at this price, one way, no deal.

  • $506 2 ways bne to zqn in early June? Yeah nah, no deal. I paid $280 2 ways on JQ from bne to zqn in early May.

  • Yeah, not sure that this qualifies as a deal. They normally go on sale for 189 one way, and it's expensive at that price.

Hopefully AirNZ and Virgin dropping their code sharing agreement later this year will lead to some extra competition on those routes.

    Destinations in english please.

  • Booked last year Adl to chc return for $425 return on Qantas/ Qantas Link. Outward connection flight in Sydney was delayed 2hrs (got good value out of the Amex lounge). On return our 6am flight was cancelled at 4am. At chc airport they put us on an Airnz flight at 6:30. No idea what was going on with that flight. Booked Qantas, got airnz! Different alliance all together. Double booked or something.

  • I bought 6 bottles of Stoneleigh wine for $A77 and received a free return flight from CBR to CHC next month flying VA.

It was a better deal than this Air New Zealand deal.
