Spotted this in the latest Big W catalogue.

Derwent Academy 72 Pencil Set. Includes colour and watercolour pencils, a metal sharpener and eraser.

This pencil set comes in a wooden storage box which should last the distance and make the item more gift-able.

In store only. Unfortunately, not available online, apart from on eBay which remains at full price, plus postage.

  Just read some reviews, double check if this one is made in China or UK. If it's made in China the lead keeps breaking!

  Academy is the "student" line of Derwent - I don't have any reference in front of me at the moment, but it's more likely these are a Chinese product. There has been an influx of bulk, usually Chinese made, colouring pencils on the market in the recent years. Probably some oversaturation partly caused by the adult colouring book phase.

  The image shows a set of 36 colour and 36 watercolour pencils, in a box with a sharpener and eraser. These are fine for basic colouring, etc. but it's a probably a bit of overkill for a beginner and is a puzzling purchase for someone with more colour pencil experience.

  If you are looking at colouring a little more seriously, you are probably better off with something else.
