Double edge razor blades cost about $10 for 100. Be a true Ozbargainer!

    • Even cheaper sometimes. They work better too and the upfront investment isn't even that huge.

      Thanks, but old story.

      • Does that change the recommendation?

Any recommendations? And for someone whose never used double edge. How hard is it to pick up?

      • Not very difficult, a better authority would be reddit.com/r/wicked_edge and /r/wetshaving.

I was recommended a futur clone, a large brush (as I will be using it on my body as well), a shaving bowl, some blades (to see which works best for you, get a largeish sample pack), and some shaving soap (I got proraso, it was the cheapest, on eBay. The scent of artisan soaps is apparently better but I don't really mind) (on their discord server)

      • I just started. It’s super easy and one of the smoothest shaves. I also got the futur clone @tf2manu994 got but I’m an ozbargainer for everything else. Aka shaving gel and that’s it. It works fine for me and I can’t really be bothered lathering the soap.

      • I have the Futura but prefer the plastic Feather razor. These are about $27 on eBay. I can't cut myself with it no matter what I do.

I prefer a pig bristle brush like an Omega. The badger ones don't soften my whiskers enough. And I'm happy to use any of the Proraso shaving soaps at about $10 but prefer the smell of the sandalwood smelling Burgundy coloured container Proraso saving soap. The soap could probably last one year. It goes on forever.

Astra blades (can't remember the exact name but the baby poo green coloured packaged ones) are very smooth for me. Though I've been impressed with some Indian Gilletes lately.

      • Closed comb. You will get less cuts, diff blades work different for different people. Derby's work better then feathers for me lol

I ordered some 2 weeks ago - made in vietnam if anyone wanted to know. Usually a common question.

I've bought Mach 3 razors from lots of online sellers through eBay and other sites. Most are not the same quality you buy in supermarkets or Big W, K-mart, etc. They have cheaper blades which go blunt very quick. Sometimes it's better to buy from legitimate stores.
