I have this monitor on my gaming machine at home and it has been awesome. mainly play Destiny 2, Frostpunk and Fornite on it and has been a great monitor for them all. The only complaint would be slight ghosting when going between light and dark scenes quickly. The monitor is also overclockable to 75hz with ease!

    • Can't wait, It is replacing a Benq 22 inch FHD monitor which is 7 yo, will be huge difference.

    • +4

      Not overclockable, it's 75hz.

  • +1

Hmm, no VESA mount and G-Sync/ FreeSync. Guess you pay for what you get.

    • +12

      no vesa mount

      I cri evrytiem

    • +3

No VESA but yes to Freesync, not that I cares, wont be gaming on it.

    • +2

You can buy VESA adapter for ~$50 which attaches to the stand after you remove the base (so you have the stem attached still which doesn't look good).

  • thats….too big…..!!??! (for me only) Although the price is attempting !!

    • +8
      • That could well be me in that image, but my current screen is just 24inch across, so I cannot be certain. Maybe I should just use zoomable binoculars with my smaller screen, save the money at my age as my eyes get worse every darn year that passes me by.

        • +1

I've come from a 22" and I've found it to be good and not having any discomfort with it and I'm sitting about just over an arm's length away.

  • -7

5ms 75Hz doesn't suit my MLG eSports lifestyle

  • Any chance there's a 27" equivalent? I really don't want a screen that tall.

  • +6

    I have this monitor.

My one complaint is it takes a long, variable amount of time - seconds or more than 10 less than 18 seconds - to come out of low power state which would drive me insane if it was a primary display although curiously I have yet to see this mentioned anywhere so maybe I have a dud or another issue.

Image quality appears better than an X34 with a noticeable jump in contrast and almost true black that looks more compelling. I don't play games on it.

For $279 it's pisses all over the Philips BDM3201F that it replaced and I think this has to be the best value 31.5" around.

    • +1

its not just your monitor… mine takes on average 10-15 seconds from turning on to showing windows.

      • +1

It seems worse when I use DVI or VGA rather than HDMI or DP.

  • +5

I have this monitor too, and it's a LOT of real estate! The slow to wake up must be a thing as mine does the same, takes about 7 - 10 seconds. It's not as fast as the Dell it replaced, but you can't argue with the price VS size and resolution. It easily keeps up with the games that are played on my PC and is glorious to look at or watch a movie on. Buyers Tip - make sure that you use the supplied cable or at least have a DVI-2 already. I used the DVI-1 that I previously had (didn't want to get under the desk to swap out the cables lol) on my Dell and the picture was terrible! LOL, DVI-1 doesn't support 2K :-). Great value and if you have the space, a great buy. Cheers.

    • +1

Yeah I noticed that the 4K AOC monitor I have is also slow to wake up compared to my old Dell Ultrasharp.

Similarly I noticed when I reused my old DVI cables that it had shit quality at 4K. I didn't bother looking into whether there was a better DVI cable though, I just bought a new graphics card with DisplayPort.

      • LOL, I instantly ordered a new card thinking that was the problem. After a lot of digging around on the net (and the answer wasn't just 'there'), tried the supplied cable and everything was fixed! I cancelled the order for the new card lol ;-).

  • +2

hmm buy or not yo buy…..

    • +2

      ahhh bought ..

  • +4

Got it for 4 months. The big 2k monitor worth for the price. but you have to consider upgrade your graphic card if you jump from 1080 to 1440, especially gaming. I've learnt that right after connected to my GTX980. Mainly played — PUBG

  • +2

I too have this monitor (2 of), purchased back in Feb for $279 from Shopping Express (fast delivery). I'm not a gamer so I can't talk about their performance there. But for my desktop workstations they are excellent value for money.

I purchased one for my main display, upon receipt I instantly purchased a second for another of my workstations since it was a surprisingly good display.

    Very happy with them.

  • -6

    No HDR no DEAL

  • How's this for a surface book?

  • Bought this last time it was on sale. So far very happy with it. No VESA, but I've come to terms with that, and the desk footprint isn't too large. Not a heavy gamer, but I can play most of my games quite happily on it at 60fps on a 1050Ti. Freesync to 75fps if you have an AMD card. Would happily purchase another now if I had a wide enough desk.

As other people have said, it is a bit slow to wake, but given I can type my password as it's waking I don't think it's a big drawback.

Was originally not sold on 32" as I had planned on a 27", but now I'm quite happy with it.

  • I'm looking to replace my old 22" 1080p monitor. I'm unsure whether I want a 2k 75hz or a 1080p 144hz monitor… I'm no pro gamer, but my r9 390x craves the freesync!

    • Definitely 2K over 1080p, with freesync on @75Hz I really don't think you'll regret it.

    • 2k is nice but it's no 144hz level of a jump, go for the high refresh rate.

  • -2

1440p 27" 165Hz GSYNC or nothing. Save up your pennies folks. It's like going from Magnetic to SSD.

    • -1

      I'm you're a green boy, sure.

    • +1

I totally agree but they cost a lot more money. 120hz is the lowest refresh I would personally use now days.

  • Can the 75Hz be used with regular vsync, or only through freesync? Want to know if my Nvidia card can run it at 75Hz, or if that's only for AMD.

Also, how's the colors and backlight bleeding situation on this?

    Thanks

    • +1

You can run it on 75Hz with an nVidia card and normal vsync.

In regard to the colours, it's not great. By default the colours are too washed out but with some tweaking you can get it pretty good. Contrast is decent for a monitor this size too but there still is a little backlight bleeding regardless of what you do. It's very minimal though and hardly noticeable after much tweaking.

The main issue is that out of the box the monitor is a little blue-washed and overly bright. I had to tweak the monitor settings and the windows settings to get the colour/light level right but when I did it looked good.

      • Ah that's good then, I might just take the gamble and upgrade my ancient Dell heh.

        Thanks for the reply :)

  • +1

Bought this a few weeks back. Ended up returning it. Got motion sickness and bad ghosting every time I tried to play any FPS.

I think my monitor may have been faulty. Some report that you can fix the motion sickness and ghosting issues by putting overdrive on medium. I ran the ghosting tests and it didn't matter what overdrive was set to, it had no change to ghosting at all.

I also should note that I was using an nVidia GTX 1080. Freesync may alleviate the issue.

  • Very tempted….

In the market for a 27'+ 2k monitor, can anyone here recommend an ips as I want to use it for vid/photo editing.

Been looking at the Dell ultrasharp range but budget doesn't allow it.

  • +3

If you want to copy a optimal colour profile (ICC file) for this monitor from someone who has already done the hard yards, you can grab it from this page. You need to apply his optimal settings first to get the best result. Info is about 1/3 of the way down the page under "Test Settings (ICC Profile)"

    • Thanks for the link! This may improve what I already think is a pretty good monitor, especially for the price! Cheers :-).

  • Great timing! Just about to buy a monitor, thanks op

  • Bought 2 for my gaming set up, hope the dual screens work well!

    • Do take a note that the pixel responses is pretty bad, so you will see black smudge, which actually made me feel annoyed at some situations, like night maps in BF1. But other than that, it is a solid monitor, no complaint. I bought it mainly for sim racing and are very happy about it.

  • Out of stock now.

    • Third link from PC Byte still got plenty 3 bucks more

  • 1440p 32inch is working really well for productivity for me. Love it for multitasking. I haven't directly compared this to other similar monitors, but no complaints from me after using this one for a few months.

I haven't gamed on it though so can't comment on that side of things.

you can try the colour profile file

    • Thanks for the link! This may improve what I already think is a pretty good monitor, especially for the price! Cheers :-).

  • IPS or TN ?

  • hi all, will this be good for photo editings?

    • +1

Colour accuracy isn’t amazing but it is perfectly respectable for such a low-cost screen. Its average Delta E of 1.93 means you can use it for photo editing comfortable in the knowledge that the edits you make should look okay to everyone else.

You should ideally get hold of an IPS panel for photo editing.
