I've never booked with them. Fellow ozbargainers have noted some hidden international transaction fee after booking.

No fees paying with Visa Debit. +$15 For Mastercards and Visa credit cards. +$25 for Amex and PayPal.
Was wondering if using PayPal could we avoid them slapping us with the additional international transaction fee?

"Just checked my transaction history and despite having an Australian presence (BudgetAir Australia), Australian website with .com.au, and all prices displayed in AUD (they're quite proud of that too, it's one of the key points on their home page) — and the transaction has come through from Amsterdam. It's even "Budgetair Australia Amsterdam NLD". So chuck on an extra $30 AUD in international payment processing they don't you about.
Dick move. Definitely avoid."
However they did get a refund after complaining.
Check your credit card. Appears like the Commbank platinum and diamond rewards are exempt from this fee. Otherwise you're looking ~3%
