Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Camera for $29 @ Target

820

Limited availability in stores, so far from what I checked yellow color only available in Chatswood. Although you can go to Officeworks and get an extra 5% if it is in stock, keeping in mind that target still has it in stock and you're in Sydney/NSW. Officeworks only has the yellow color. Tried doing this in Melb, didn't work.

Only colors available for $29:

Yellow https://www.target.com.au/p/fujifilm-instax-mini-8-camera-ye…
Pink https://www.target.com.au/p/fujifilm-instax-mini-8-camera-pi…

Edit: Try calling target if they actually have stock in the stores, the website might be slow to update. Never expected my first post to blow up hahaha

  • I've got one of these, can't say I've actually ever used it though.

lol I was expecting a review after the first half of your sentence.. lol

I'd love one of these but the film/refills are expensive.

    • Agree, I have one but never use it for that reason.

    • They're cheaper if you buy in bulk but yeah, still not cheap

  • Clearance so no OW price match

  • Only a couple of stores in the Sydney area have limited stock. Would have to go to store first thing tomorrow and then no guarantee that they actually are in stock. Good luck finding one.

  • None in stock in Brisbane.

The pursuit of bargains is an insatiable mistress

    • What is this "sleep" you speak of? Never heard of it!

  • Got the only one on sa at Southgate on wed

This is like buying a laser printer - super cheap but when it comes time to get a new cartridge - damn expensive!

    • +4

      laserinkjet printer

      Fixed that for you.

      • You would be surprised, with most home printers ink is way cheaper, if you spend around $200 on an ink printer you can get around 2.5c per page. Laser at the same price will give you less features of the printer and probably be at BEST 4.5c per page.

Laser does have its benefits but it's not actually cheaper for refills in the mid-high end consumer range.

        • No idea where you get the 6c/page for laser printers, maybe you misplaced the DP. For example a refilled toner cartridge for a Brother HL-2130 is about $15 and rated at 2600 pages. Even if you discount that to 1500 pages, it's about 1c/page. Even if you double that for drum replacement, it's still 2c/page.

On the other hand people don't have CISS so they pay about as much as my toner cartridge for ink cartridges that no way will cover 1500 pages.

This is for mono. If you're talking colour, the cost go up for both and laser still has the advantage.

          So no, no surprises here.

        • @greenpossum: I was talking about official cartridge prices, not generic.

        • @StaboCrabo: Hand in your OzBargain badge!

        • @greenpossum: Well once you start talking generic, they are super cheap, it's just a matter of how cheap and risky you want to go

        • @StaboCrabo: No problems with my refilled cartridges. Mono toner isn't rocket science.

Success, Perth is the only store with stock of any colour. I have one and it's a fun little thing. Instant photos for grandma when we visit.

  • It takes film, if it had a SD card option I would get one.

    • +10

Cmon mate, it's instax, where would you find an instax which loads cards? Probably that's called a digital camera.

      • It takes film, if it had an option to upload to the net I would get one. ;)

        Oh wait, that's a smartphone.

        • In that case, may as well buy a portable pocket printer. Most are near $185-200 (HP and LG have a model, there's also a few cheapo branded models out there) but with mid year stocktake is coming, it could go down. They use ZINK paper which is half the price of Instax film. Xiaomi came out with a model for near $82 (400 yuen) a few months ago but hasn't been widely available yet.

        • @CheeryCheapskate: Whichever way you go, you're paying way past the odds for having hard copy.

        • Fuji does make a hybrid Instax that has a digital back.
          http://www.fujifilm.com.au/products/instant_photo/cameras/in…

        • @greenpossum: Yep, pretty much. Times like there, we just transfer files to each other. I think I'd only print in photo labs for 10c a photo if I'm desperate.

        • @CheeryCheapskate:

ZINK is half the price for a reason, I've got an LG pocket photo and a Fuji Instax printer. The Fuji is so much better quality and lasts, the ZINK fades and the paper curls as well which is super annoying.

      • There is a Polaroid branded digital instant camera that can bluetooth the photos to your phone, save them to SD, and print the ones you want to print.

It's fun for parties, you can get cheaper consumables on ebay.

  • +1

Has anyone found stock in sydney?

  • +2

Chaddy n glen wav no stock

  • Would buy one of these from Officeworks, but I wouldn't spend $60 on it.

$1 it's a huge price for a photo, but then again, you're not taking 100 pictures/day. $1 doesn't seem that big in the whole scheme of things.

  • You can take heaps of naughty pictures and pass them to all your exes and crushes as inheritance after death.

I went to Eastland, Victoria and even though it said they had the pink in limited stock, they did not. They only had the pink in Mini 9 (which is not on clearance).

    • +1

thanks for saving me the trip :)

  • +1

Harvey Norman have the Instax Mini 9 (later model) on sale today only for $67 (save $23).

    • There is no difference between 8 and 9. There is no reason to buy 9 but to have the newer camera with an updated white text on it saying 9 instead of 8.

  • +1

    No stock in Victoria.

  • Good for parties or weddings.

My friend had this and a whiteboard with magents for her wedding and she ended up with about 50 nice polaroids of guests at the end, plus most ppl take one or two home

  • Been using one for years. Amazing little thing.

Makes lasting memories that much more nostalgic.

    • Damn it, I just bought from Officeworks a couple of days ago …

    • Thanks for posting this! Been wanting one for a while but the $80-90 price point was too much for me.

Just bought 2 online from OfficeWorks last night for me and a friend and received it today. Checked the link again and you can't get it online anymore, gotta check in store.

  • Price beaten at Officeworks. Thanks
