Dewalt Friday Kit - Brushless Hammer Drill 54V 6.0ah Kit - $199

350

Just a heads up guys, Dewalt are bring back their Black Friday kit, dubbed Dewalt Friday this time round.

If you missed out last time, keep an eye out for it at your leading power tool stores (and Bunnings) this Friday.

RRP is $199 (total value $487). I suspect this time you wont see it cheaper, there was a crack down as a result of the discounting last time. Don't expect it to be a part of Bunnings' Powerpass discounts either. Someone got into trouble for that one :)

KIT INCLUDES:

Brushless Hammer Drill/Driver
1 x 6.0AH Flexvolt battery (18/54v)
1 x Charger
1 x Cardboard box

I've switched from Milwaukee to Dewalt as a result of this kit and am loving the 54V gear.

Got this kit last year, found the 6A battery quite heavy, so sold it and got 2x2A instead. Great value and solid drill

Only downside is that I haven't seen much other dewalt gear on sale. been waiting for a year now on a good wipper snipper or 54V leaf blower deal 😂

    • hey, thought this one is pretty good? Free battery and the price is cheaper than others

      https://www.blackwoodsxpress.com.au/power-tools/cordless-pow…

    • I picked up that same kit too, but kept the battery as I then splashed out on the flexvolt wipper snipper. It's great and justifies the 6a battery (it's overkill for a drill). You're right about the deals though. The closest I got was Sydney Tools doing a 'free 6a flexvolt battery' with purchase.
      Worth it though…

Which would be illegal, of course.

    • easy fix is same gear with a different sku , dewalt can do that with stickers on boxes if they didn’t want to get ones printed …..removes the price match issue….all you do is add a bonus pencil at some stores or bonus pen at others …….
it’s bunnings 10% less rather than will match same price policy that created the price drop , takes bunnings out of having to do 10% less and last years discounting issue is solved especially if the other alternative is supplier that has to post and possible postage costs.

Bunnings get REALLY nervous when you start photographing whatever they refuse to pricematch.
If the 'bonus' is different, fair cop, red tape wins.

However i've been (attempted) to be denied based solely on SKU (one had a B for Bunnings stock).
A few photos, and what not, and a letter from the ACCC saying that the packaging is not the product, hence why there is a Contents List on the side (which is identical). and I got my 10% off :)

    • Apple been doing it for ages with their premium sellers.

    Sweet, needed a cardboard box

  • Anyone know what model is the drill is?

    • is there any printed catalogue or link yet?

    • DCD796 is the model number

  • Would be great if the line trimmer kit was sold at this price :

    https://www.blackwoodsxpress.com.au/power-tools/cordless-pow…

I'm waiting for a good deal on a cordless line trimmer

    • If you could also use a heavy but ok blower and a chainsaw then the Bunnings AEG Kit might be worth a look 2 batteries charger, blower, trimmer and a chainsaw via redemption $599 https://www.bunnings.com.au/aeg-58v-blower-and-line-trimmer-…

      • Yeah that AEG pack is a cracking deal. I've been eyeing it off as I need a blower and figure I'd have to spend the extra $200 and get the trimmer ($349 skin) and 2nd battery ($269). Just not sure about the blower…it's heavy and cumbersome even without the battery.

  • Anyone know what retailers will participate in this deal. I applied for the $20 voucher for Blackwoods xpress for signing up for their mailing list but I can no longer find it. Anyone know if it would still work / is valid and if it was a personalised code or not? I missed out on the Jan Dewalt drill deal @ $179 so haven't used it.

    • I got this kit from Total Tools on my home yesterday. Thanks OP !

  • Would this drill be a bit of overkill for the odd handyman job around the house? Ideally I'd be looking to pick up an impact driver, line trimmer and few others things to make small jobs easier.

I would rather pay for something of good quality than picking up the Ozito lines etc. The Ryobi One+ range looks a bit flimsy as well?

    Cheers,

At this price it's not overkill for the drill. Batteries and chargers are always the failure point in the cheaper drills, if you want it to work when you want it without having to recharge every time you need it then you need good quality.

  • the ryobi is double but has 4 tools, thoughts?

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-one-18v-4-piece-kit_p62107…

    $399

    This kit comes complete with:
    • 1 x 18V ONE+ drill driver
    • 1 x 18V ONE+ impact driver
    • 1 x 18V ONE+ circular saw
    • 1 x 18V ONE+ angle grinder
    • 2 x 2.5Ah lithium ion battery
    • 1 x fast charger.

edit there are so many tools around this price point!

My local (Chirnside Park) Bunnings has these marked for $188
