    Ausgrid market rates for NSW with Amaysim are not good when you look into the finer details. Always check what your usage is (and type such as TOU).

      dude that statement means nothing or is not the same to most other people. realy depends on ur location and distributor. Everyone's rates are different.. lucky for me I'm on a single rate and its cheaper than my current even before the discount. Other thing I like is discount is off supply charge as well.. all other retailers only provide discount off usage

    Be wary of their billing system. You will not get 40% off because of the way they bill. Im not even going to wait for the 12 months to get the 125 because i need to spend too much time arguing with them on the phone. Going to contact ACCC and ombudsman because of them also.

      The customer service has been terrible. I'm currently in a process with the ombudsman about this.

    The best way to get a great rate is to sign up to switch and wait for the phone call from your current supplier. I got $50 credit ($100 total) on both my gas and electricity for staying with Energy Australia plus got moved to the highest discount plans. Plus their customer service is awesome.

    As alluded to earlier they have a weird billing system. The "pay on time discount" is calculated on your current bill and is applied as a credit to the next bill. Also the $125 welcome credit is a rebate applied to the un-discounted full rates so it's worth about 40% less than it seems. Say your first bill daily and usarge charges subtotals $126, you'll get $125 rebated, you will owe $1 and earn a 40 cents "Pay on time discount" to be credited to your next bill. This is their way of kicking you into having that perpetual forward discount. Subsequent pay on time discounts are calculated on the full subtotal and applied as a credit (not a rebate) after the subtotaling.

      So the $125 will cost you $43.75 of discounts making it worth only $81.25. Then after a year you get it again so in effect it's not $250 but $162.5. You also loose the 35% discount on your final bill when you leave. May still be worth it if your bill is low.
