Long time Lurker, first-time poster. If you need a new washer and dryer, many rebates can stack for TODAY only at Betta stores. Luckily it's Thursday for late night shopping.

RRP is $2428 (does anyone ever pay retail?!). Betta has a bundle sale at $1798 online, before cashback

In-store Negotiated Price and Rebates:

I got both of these for $948 by stacking these deals…

  • In-store negotiation to $744 for washer and $854 for the dryer as a bundle: Quote scan for matching
  • Claim $50 voucher when paying found by a Google search for your local store (ends tonight): Example search EDIT: might be Underwood only. Please reply if you find elsewhere!
  • Claim $200 gift card from Betta for the LG bundle (ends tonight): Betta Gift Card offer
  • Claim $200 cash back from LG: LG Cashback offer
  • Claim $200 appliance rebate from Queensland government: QLD rebate
  • Try approaching store for free delivery if they can send in time. I collected: Delivery regions

I bought the last one in Underwood but I haven't checked stock and vouchers in other stores so admins might want to consider if sufficient quantity. One of these rebates is Queensland only, making the price $1048 in other states. Good luck all!

EDIT: I'm not sure if $200 Betta gift card is an eftpos credit like some cashbacks, or credit for their store only. Bit less beneficial if it is just Betta credit

    Wow! Ozbargan’er of the year!!
    Well done!!

    • Thanks! Wish I'd found it sooner so more OzB users could benefit

      • Ozbargainer of the year.
And did you mean $1598, rather than $1798 in the title?

        • It's okay got it now. You negotiated it down to $1598, but the online bundle was $1798.

Should bought 3x of them and flipped them for a profit, so your net cost is $0

Congratulations with the first post! You've done well. Just my two cents are here, getting $200 Betta Gift Card is not the same as getting $200 discount, so you are still paying that amount upfront (the same for the cashbacks, but at least with those you have got cashback to your account)

    • True. I'll edit and call that out

  • Thinking about buying a combined washer/dryer combo for about 1k for a small apartment. Are these any good?

I can't comment on that model, but I've always found them very slow to dry, hence buying two separate units

      • True, I've heard the dryer only dries half the capacity as the washer. As space is limited, I'll need to get the combo.

    • I just moved into a small apartment and bought a washer/dryer combo. Just be warned on average it does take a long time to complete the wash/dry cycle. I'm talking 2 hours for the wash and 3 hours for the dry…

    • My EX has this model. It's a decent unit but as others have said drying is very slow.

Quick 30 mode for washing I found is perfectly fine for most of your washing needs. Allow up to 2 hours max for drying - although I usually only did a load of business shirts, socks & jocks with the rest outside which is probably why I never saw 3 hours for drying as mentioned by someone else.

      • Thanks for the info

You should post a deal for the ticketed/guaranteed price, you can then add your experience with negotiating further discount in the deal description only

    • The quote from store is attached in the post for price match? Or is that not how it should be done?

      • I have edited your title in accordance with the posting guideline, i.e. put the ticketed/guaranteed price in title and your experience in the description.

        • Thanks

        • @TheLurker: I am sorry that after the edit, your first deal doesn't sound as impressive as it deserved to be. Great work stacking the rebates and negotiating an excellent starting price, I loved it.

How are you able to claim the Qld rebate when your profile shows you're in Sydney?

        • @alvian: outdated profile since we moved. Good catch and thanks!

  • For that price you may want to consider Electrolux 10kg/6kg washer dryer RRP 1499. I got mine for 1399 delivered from DJ

Awesome deal OP, that $50 off voucher is amazing!

    • Yeah - I've never seen that on google before.

$50 off $100 is awesome … pity it's limited to the 1 store.

  • The dryers aren't available on the rebate IIRC.

You're getting the washing machine rebate only which is $200.

Edit: Nevermind you've combined the wording of rebates and cashbacks.

    Good deal though!

    • $744 washer + $854 dryer - $50 Google - $200 LG - $200 Betta - $200 Qld = $948 as claimed by OP

He did not double up on the non-existent dryer rebate.

      • Yeah I edited my post.

        • +1

And I was writing mine while you updated yours. That's why I looked stupid with my superfluous comment.

  • What is the Google voucher offer? No luck with Google..

    • +1

Its store specific to Only Underwood store

      • If that's the case it's disappointing. I hope others can share if they find it elsewhere? I'll update the post and share as a separate Underwood deal

  • Can I ask, is it a good idea to stack the dryer on top of the washer like in the picture here?

    http://www.lg.com/au/clothes-dryers/lg-TD-C80NPW-8kg-condens…

    • Condenser is really heavy compared to old style vented. They can't wall mount. Stacking clips are available for these models. I'm putting my in under bench side by side

      • That's why I asked, since it's heavy is it a good idea to stack it on top of the washer? Wouldn't that somehow stop/weaken the washer from spinning?

        • If the manufacturer makes it with that in mind, sells kits for it, and warrants it, I guess not?

  • +1

I'd forget the one-off saving here and get a heat-pump dryer. These things will really show up on your electricity bill. Heatpump dryers have amazing efficiency.

    • Got any good prices on heat pumps to share? And do they need venting?

  • +1

What's wrong with using the sun to dry clothes?

    • only works when Sun tells rain to F off

      • Or you could just hang your clothes under the house if it's high set - dries just as quickly.

    • +1

      Come and live in Victoria

  • Just to clarify, the price on Imgur was the one you paid and you knocked them down another $200 in addition to the cashback stuff on the right of their webpage?

    • I got $200 lower than the linked online price, before any rebates. I was negotiating on them as separate items comparing to other stores. Price charged to my Cc was $1548. I submitted the three other cash back offers tonight. Very easy and friendly negotiation and great staff. Will buy again there

What is this washing machine like?

    • I've had this model for about 4 months. It's pretty solid. Its predecessor was highly rated by Choice.

    • The washer has not missed a beat and my God it gets a pounding. Average two full loads a day.

      3 years old.

I would buy an LG again.

  • +1

What is the dryer like? I was looking at the dryer alone and it is listed around $850.
Family of three, does it dry well?
    thanks.

    • I purchased the LG dryer and washer approx 3 years ago now. A family of 5.

Dryer, first year, was coming up with an 'empty water reservoir' type error (but we were using the black pipe that goes straight into the drain which I recommend btw). We had LG local fix up guy look at it for a few days to test nonstop. He said it was damn hard to trigger the error so he just replaced the lint filter and something else (can't remember sorry). Since then the dryer has not missed a beat.

A wet sensor, condenser. All means you turn on and forget. Really handy.

  • Grr it's after 9pm and just saw this. Would have definitely used that $50 voucher. How did you come across it?

    • Sheer luck by a Google search. There's another post I made about that deal and the promo company rep replied and said they were running a market test. Pretty good deal so I hope they do it again

  • Don't forget that the Qld energy efficient appliance rebate only applies to items purchased before midnight on 3 June.

  • Just be careful that LG Washing machine have water hammering issues.
