  I have the 2017 version and am pretty sure the "ANC" is just an EQ setting. I did an A/B test against my QC15's using a sine wave generator, the Bose headphones removed the sound almost completely whereas the Cowin's just muffled it.

  Cowin used to make some very very nice Audio players, they may still do, but they were amazing back MP3 players back in the day. You might not have heard of Cowin but they at least used to be a very reputable audio brand.

  They've been cheaper previously but I use mine all the time. They're fantastic around home, just a bit big for commuting.

  Wearing my E7s at the moment (not the E7 Pros). Bought for US$48 delivered from Amazon 10 months ago as a "lightning deal". A bit too small for my ears. Very much "on ear" so I prefer my Sennheisers HD380 Pros when corded is an option.

  I bought the 2017 version (I'm guessing it's not the newer version but it was only a few months back) and also have Sony xm1000
  I got to Cowin for 49 and the Sony for 260. Sony much better and more comfortable. But for home to use as a drown out, they're fine. If you want to really get great noise cancelling or listen to music and appreciate more, treat yo'self to Sony or Bose
