Telecube NBN Price Hike - Existing Customers - Any Other Options?

Looks like it might be time for a new provider!

This is the email received:

My sincere apologies that it's necessary for us to make this announcement but in order to improve the quality of the service that we are providing, I'm afraid it's unavoidable.

Unfortunately we are unable to maintain the current pricing on your NBN plan, we will need you to either move to a lower speed tier to maintain a similar price or increase the price of your current plan.

  • I'm a little lost "According to Rep posts on Whirlpool the new Billing starts on the 14th June."

On the 13th June I got an email saying that I'm still paying the same amount per month, checked online on the 18th June and still the same amount, no price hike for me yet.

    On the 25/5 500GB for $45pm.

    • This thread only impacts 100/40 plans

  • Sorry for the slightly off topic irrelevant hijack but this seems like the best place to ask this question but what is the cheapest 12/1 1000gb nbn only data plan

So far telecube seems to be the best at 12/1 1000gb XL plan at $40/month (previously $35/month before price hike)

Just need an Internet connection don't need super high speed. But need 500-1000gb minimum just in case so no bill shock from overcharge data and so we don't get shaped too early and have dialup speeds for the rest of the month.

Also looking for a receive only phone or incoming calls phone as we are all switching to mobile plans individually in my household.

Open to local unlimited if cheap.

    Is everyone else having the dropouts with Telecube? They have been horrific. After chatting to them they have said;

"This outage last night was on our services end, before that though we have 6 NBN drops reported in the last month, if you are having dropouts outside of those its likely an issue we have to investigate further into."

"We are going to be making improvements to our services and network in the next few weeks, including victoria, you should start seeing manageable improvements to your service in that time frame."

It seems I get multiple drop outs each week, I've never had such a bad connection with anyone before. Is the above actually going to happen and improve it, as I'm almost ready to bail to someone reliable, thoughts?

I'm just waiting for a deal to pop up . I can deal with it till then . I've had a number of short drop outs but they seem to be getting better .

      • Yeah I've had a few lately. One was due to the login changing to case specific and the other seemed to be the DNS but I've had a couple of other dropouts and one night of crazy low speeds and packet loss.

No drop outs yet for me but will definitely know when as my housemate games from around 3-4pm onwards until midnight nearly every day and i am using the internet at all hours of the internet for various things from gaming to checking steam sales to ozbargain to whirlpool forums to reddit almost 14-16 hours a day haha lol its a ba.d habit

Just signed up on their 12/1 XL 1000gb plan for $35/month lets see if they keep charging me at that rate for the longevity of the plan.. anybody know if my billing cycle starts from when i signed up or is a static date for everybody signed up at Telecube regardless of date of signup.. I read some saying it was near the middle of the month or near the first week but cannot confirm.

Getting a receive only phone plan with them included in the $35/month aka free phone line no outgoing calls.. this may be the best deal i have ever seen yet besides dodo's or was it tpg's $30/month unlimited adsl2+ with cheap phone plan a long long time ago.

  • Telecube have regrets on hiking up the price. Get ready for some price reductions soon to get customers back!

    • Too bad, I've gone.

    • Pfft , I'll put money on some great deals for new customers .
      Lambs to the slaughter …

  • Moved over to ABB, super happy now. Streaming and gaming without drop outs. Althought a bit more expensive.
Any provider out there as good as ABB but cheaper ?

    • Apparently Mungi

  • Well there's a surprise.
