It's been awhile since I've seen a GTX 1080 at this price

What about this one?. Friends don't let friends get blower cooler cards.

    • Blowers are supposed to be good for SFF cases, right?

      • That seems to be the consensus, yes.

      • +1

        Yes or in general IMO
I'd much prefer blower type cards if they weren't so hot and noisy ;( I remember owning an R9 290 reference, my (profanity) god comparing it to a jet engine is an insult to the jet engine. That shit hurt my ears.

Well, those friends are pretty dumb if the user is building an itx system, planning on watercooling or if circumstances are that getting a blower model costs less than getting a GTX 1070 Ti and they don't mind some extra noise.

      • friends are pretty dumb if the user is building an itx system

Potentially, but still case and CPU cooler dependent.

blower model costs less than getting a GTX 1070 Ti and they don't mind some extra noise

Which in this case is irrelevant given a dual fan option costs the same.

Great find. Apologies I should've looked a bit more carefully. I merely just based this deal on the fact that it's only ever gone below $700 pre-crypto boom and it was a sale price as well.

That's ok I can't stay mad at you, you've become like a son to me.

Shopping Express/Futu once again trying to play off ancient stock as a deal…

Expect to see 1070tis at or below $600 soon, which is much better value than this.

I highly doubt they had a 1080 just sitting around in January 2018.

      • Between them and their suppliers, yes they did. Remember that miners don't want inefficient power draw, and gamers don't want blower vac noise coming out of their PC.

  • like this ? around 610 delivered?

of course in 30 days kiss this shit goodbye……

      That's the 1070 Ti… Not a 1080.

Edit: were you replying to someone, but didn't click Reply on their comment?

yep replying to jasswolf but you interrupted…

    • *$635

INTL Warranty, might be a hassle if you need to claim anything.

      • yeah warranty always a question but how did you get 635 from 450us?

I get 610 from xrates with shipping?

        • Just went through Amazon all the way to checkout.

          @ShinK0:

never ever use amazon currency converter - but hey in 30 days irrelevant …

    • You can probably overclock less this blower style card compared to the open air ones, this one should also be more loud. However considering that this is 100 AUD less this is probably a better deal.

For the same price if you do not have a lot of space in your case then this is a good card, if you have space in your case the open air one is better.

Thanks! Got the Corsair Carbide 500R, probably not big enough

        • That is bit enough for sure. When I say big enough I mean ITX builds, or builds where you use the PCI slots under the card or when you want to put the card on the very bottom PCI slot, or when you want to mount it vertically close to a window to show it off (however showing off a blower style card that usually has no special design is a little silly).

If I were you I would buy this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/381016 , for 100 AUD less you get probably max 5% less performance and less noise.

        • LOL! Time i lost reading this and will never get back

  • Price is showing as $789.00?

  • It looks like there's a lot currently being dumped into the second hand market, probably from the end of mining profitability as well as the next gen being released soon.
I feel that when the next gen is released, people will generally associate the 10xx series with mining, and this will affect it's second hand value.
