Loch Ness Monster Soup Ladle - $0.99 USD ($1.31 AUD) Delivered @ AliExpress

240

What a great idea. Stands up on its own. Good for cooling your food down before tasting it while cooking without it spilling all over your kitchen-top and looks cool too.

Hmmm, no offense, but not sure if I'll trust cheap cooking utensils sold on aliexpress. No idea what kind of material it is made from.

    • +3

It would be from the same factory as the countless other stuff sold in stores.

    • Food grade PP plastic safe material, non-toxic and eco-friendly

    • I wouldn't worry about it until you start seeing our local made loch ness monster soup ladles flying off the shelves and being shipped over to China.

They do kinda look cool, but looking at the display picture, try to imagine what the table would look like if you had actually been using the spoons..

    • Yeesh, just saying, if you used it like in the picture, you'll end up with puddles of stop over the table.

Surprised this cost less than $3.50

      Surprised anyone would buy this.

      • Whoosh.

        Maybe should've said, "tree-fitty".

Then again, OzBargain isn't Reddit. South Park memes aren't accepted here.

          Isn't that a US rapper?

        • @Scab:
          No, that's 50 cents.

  • Yeah its a no from me.

  • +2

Ay, if you be lookin' for ol' Nessie 'round my place, you'll be sure to not find her in these parts.

Translation: it's a no from me too

  • +4

Yeah nah I'm not putting these cheap plastic crap from china into my boiling soup.

    • I guess that rules this one out as well, then?

  • Thanks OP , got them from your post last year !

  • +2

I got these last year for like 1c. I got 2 in total. They do look cute but they are surely not good for the intended purpose. There is a reason why ladels and soup spoons dont have legs. With legs it means the sauce/soup drips and gets more messy.

      A messy Nessie.

  • +1

Doesn't work. It floats in soup. Useless.

  • +6

A word of warning: I thought this was a novel idea but ever since adding it to my collection of utensils it has been IMPOSSIBLE to find.

  • Got one of these ages ago. It's fine, just small - approx. 75ml capacity.
