I have 200 colour images to print on good A4 stock.
Our colour laser printer doesn’t do images all that well. I hate inkjets, but given that officeworks will charge about $150 for the job, I wondered if any of you could recommend a cheap inkjet that sells with enough ink to print these images in high quality for a lower price? I have no intention of keeping the printer - I’ll be giving it away after the job.

Ok - thanks for this. It is starting to like like I underestimated the price. In that case, I’ll compare officeworks with others.
It's really tough to determine how many A4 photos you're going to get out of a set of cartridges, but it won't be anywhere near 200, so you'll have to factor in more than one set of cartridges.
$150 for 200 A4 photos doesn't actually sound all that expensive to me.

75 cents per A4 colour laser photo at Officeworks is a good price any inkjet to print that @300 dpi would cost heaps more in consumables and purchase price not to mention at officeworks you get them to print one as a sample if it's not good they can adjust their settings etc stuff done O/s you cant view 1st?
I would still try and get it printed somewhere, inkjet prints never look professional. Maybe look at Vistaprint (they usually outsource to a local printer) or try Inkable. I have used Inkable a few times in the past, the quality and price is great. They print in Asia but send it Fedex/DHL so turnaround time is still comparable with local printers.
