    What was the price?

    • Original price for a king size was $11,099 .. down to $$5,550 including base and pillows. Store rep said he will throw in pillows for free instead of us choosing.

      • Thanks, if you could put that in the title if would be awesome :)

        • Done. First time poster.

        $11k for a bed… what ? Thats generous free pillows 😂

        • Perhaps they will let you pick two of the $239.40 pillows? That's 8.7% of the purchase price.

  • Request a Price - Seriously!!!

In the market for a mattress - is this any good?

    • See above

  • Anyone haggled on mattresses before?

    • +2

Step 1 - Ensure salesperson is attractive.
Step 2 - Ask if you can try
Step 3 - After confirmation hold salespersons hand and usher towards the mattress.
Step 4 - Begin undressing salesperson

If you perform well, expect a decent discount

      Anyone haggled on mattresses before?

Yes, but it always leaves a stain.

DMn. That bed is worth more than my car…..

    • Would you prefer to sleep in your car?

  • +3

Well, if you in Melbourne…its half price and a further 10% off until today….around $4,200

    • Domayne might price match?

      • that's a different model

        • +1

To prevent price match, mattresses have different names in different shops.

Not a lot to pay for something “developed by NASA in the 1970s to cushion and support astronauts during lift-off…

      • +2

OK, will buy when I become a NASA astronaut.

And how is it different to say a train…. Which I can also afford

  • +6

Thanks op. Got 2 for the spare bedrooms.

  • +2

Thanks op. I bought 8 for investment instead of coins and 2 for my dogs

  • for those havent tried Tempur mattresses, you really should try, esp with bad back.
Best mattress we had (out of 10 over the years), very comfortable with real support!
Their pillows are the best too, better than latex.
well, if you don't try it's your loss, or if it's too expensive, buy a Holden or VW then.

    • What are the pillows made of?

  • What’s the barefoot investors review of this one?

    • "I think it's an investment with high yield. As an individual, it's an upgrade to your living standard which you deserve."

    • One of the investors saw it and had a heart attack. No more reviews from them

Personally I love my tempur and it's been well worth the money I spent (~2.5k for a queen). As for the car comparison, I only rarely spend 8 hours a day in my car…

    • +1

Agree, on my second tempur (first went with the ex). They are very expensive but both times I have bought at half price so ended up in the $3k range. These are not impulse buys so wait for the annual 50% off.

As others have said, we spend close to 1/3 of our life in bed, and it affects our performance the next day/week. Make sure you get the one that suits but I have yet to sleep in a better bed.

If you are young and healthy and not on the 6-figure ozbargain salary yet, don't worry about this deal.

If you wake up sore (hips/shoulder/back) then this is an option.

You will keep it for 10 years: that is $1/day for comfort.

      That is a real bargain.

  • +5

Oh my god… this tells me that they make at least $5,500 each time they sold one of these at full price. What an absolute rort.

    • That is normal from Harvey.

  • Thanks OP, bought 2!

I had tempura prawns today. Tasty and cheap. Too full now might give this a pass

    • Did you dip it with soy sauce or ponzu sauce?

      • Mattress sauce, kinda like tartare sauce but not as chunky.

Thanks OP, gf has expensive taste and I put her on a pedastal figuratively speaking. Bought a Queen size as gf lectured me about Androcentrism when I asked her if she'd like more space with a King mattress.

    • +1

If that isn't a joke, just buy a King Single for yourself.

  • +1

Misread title as 50% of king-sized Tempura (prawns?). Disappointed.

    • +1

Would you have paid $5500 for tempura prawns?

      • If it was some sort of lifetime subscription, I would certainly consider it ;-) I am a bit partial to tempura.

  • The website UI design looks like Harvey Norman.

    • Same company I think.

i have a tempur mattress and a tempur pillow, to be honest it doesn't help me gain more quality sleep. My partner has the aldi memory foam pillow cost less than $50 and somehow i sleep better on it. Im thinking to change the mattress but knowing how much i paid it will be a waste. My advice when you try it, forget about the brand, most of the time it can get in a way when you have the brand in the back of your mind.

    • Yeah we had a tempur mattess but took it back for a sealy postu plush mmm way better. It’s supportive and comfortable and warm but not too warm. At least it doesn’t feel like sleeping on wet cement!

  • I bought the Queen size, Tempur Orion mattress at Harvey Norman for $2k. It's an older model but still a good mattress.
I bought one after sleeping on a Tempur at a relative's house and had amazing sleep on it. For a much cheaper price, you can still get a great bed, but it's personal preference.

My Tempur bed was my saviour! I wanted to let everyone know, if yiu have spinal surgery or are waiting on surgery (I had spinal fusion) then this will feel like such a relief. I wish I was told to like into this bed ages ago, need the adjustable base and mattress.

Couldn’t live without it. Make sure you try Harvey Norman and shop around their stores to get the best offer.

I got a tempur queen mattress, adjustable base, bed surround and headboard (need a special surround for this base), mattress protector, 2 pillow cases and protectors. All of this for less than 5k.
10 years warranty on tempur too.

They can take a while to get in stock, especially when picking a base surround depending on the colour. Just remember to get the correct mattress.

Hope this helps anyone with back issues.
