  • there are some buy 1 get 1 free games available too, EB games has the energiser 2x charge cradle for $28 on special as well.

  • Wow..seems like a really good price for a 1TB "limited edition". Here I was recently thinking a 500gb just under $200 was a good deal.

  • Apparently Minecraft seems to be going for around the $30 mark on eBay… as I already have the game, I'll wait for one of those "no listing or selling fees" deals and whack it up there. Assuming it sells, then will make it $149 for the console. ;-)

  • Was going to make a thread and ask about the delivery of my Xbox today. I got an email saying “Package was handed to resident”
First of all no one is home and I double checked that no one is home. I logged onto aus post site and it says “safe drop” was used.

I never authorised safe drop, so I’m assuming my package is sitting n the front door step, which I usually wouldn’t mind, but this is a high priced item and easily seen from the footpath.

Is aus post allowed to leave items at door if I don’t authorise ?

    • +1

Wow. That was fast - unless you chose expedited delivery. I went the free option and currently it says "We've got your order" and it hasn't even reached "Will dispatch Jun 7" but is showing "Arriving Jun 7 - Jun 13"

Aus post is able to leave things at the house depending on what the sender authorises. If they do leave it, it will usually only be if there is a secure location (ie somewhere out of sight from the road). If it has been left at your house and/or been given to some random who was hanging around out the front, and when you get home there is nothing - just contact Amazon. They have a good record of fixing things quickly with minimum fuss when deliveries go wrong.

      • Yeh I paid for expedited (accidentally lol)

I do have deck chairs at the front door.

So I'm assuming he has put it on that and turned it to face the house, but I'm still worried some door knocker might be around and see it and help them selves to a free xbox.

        • Let me know your address, and I'll check for you…. you can trust me… ;-)

But seriously, my postie is pretty good at putting it in a place that's not visible but yes if someone does come to your door there is a risk. Still, I have had a couple of issues with deliveries in the past with Amazon and they have been really great at resolving them so I suspect you should be ok.

        • @PlasticSpaceman: The address that's discounted :P

I paid for priority delivery and noticed with my tracking it says "Your parcel doesn’t need to be signed for. If no one is home we’ll leave it (if it’s safe to do so)."

It doesn't look like I will be getting it today either, been no update in the tracking since it went through Sunshine last night. AusPost is so useless these days, every one of my express post parcels this year has taken 2 days instead of the usual overnight delivery.

Mine got delivered at 8.51am this morning. Says "Package was handed to resident", unfortunately no one was home lol

Unless postie left it with my little spear man statue at the front

    • Mine was delivered at 07:45 this morning - Adelaide :)

Mine was exactly the same, got delivered and “handed to resident” even though I’m away. Auspost says safe drop was used. My brother went and picked it up for me at my place, it was just at the front door not really out of sight unfortunately. Would’ve preferred they’d taken it back to the post office.

      • I've had this happen to me with other items ordered from Amazon Australia - they leave the package even if you haven't said you want them to.

    • For future you could get a Ring doorbell for around $130 which would allow you to check if the parcel is there and get notifications when there is movement near the door, or just a standard security camera with remote viewing. That way you would know for sure.

Sometimes I have found Amazon to just leave things on the doorstep even when I am home! They must think it's worth it to not have the hassle of missed deliveries.

  • Out of curiosity for the people who received their order today, what shipping did all you guys select?

    • Expedited

      • I'm an idiot for getting priority delivery it is useless thanks to Auspost. Anyways spoke to Amazon and they're refunding the shipping.

  • Lol at all the minecraft bundles on gumtree for $300

  • Just shipped :D

  • Used standard 'free' shipping - is with Australia Post for delivery tomorrow in Melb…..

    • ….ooh, and I just checked and had "list & sell 10 items for free" (https://sellercentre.ebay.com.au/promo/103813) in my junk mail. Time to sell my old Xbox and that Minecraft code. ;-)

    • …and arrived this morning

Lucky!! Still waiting for mine to be dispatched

        • mine says delivery in july…

        • @Otto-Mann: I came here to complain about the estimate of next Wednesday. I will consider myself lucky now

        • @pacsman:

          Arriving: Thursday, July 5 - Friday, July 20… :( :(

        • Mine still says "Will dispatch Jun 7" and "Arriving Jun 7 - Jun 13"…hmmm.

        • @carlenet: same :( hopefully itll be dispatched tonight

        • +2

@shapers: Yes hopefully, since we're both in the same capital city as the distribution centre. :)

        • Just shipped and due tomorrow. Super! :)

        • @carlenet: Awesome :) hoping mines not too far behind!

Mine was also saying "Will dispatch Jun 7 and Arriving Jun 7 - Jun 13"… Got shipped yesterday, arriving on coming Tues..

  • Mine just got delivered today at North Sydney, NSW. I was one of the last to place an order on Amazon, AU.

Mine just got delivered on Sat, quite amazing.Due to the Auspost, the box has been a little damaged.

Mine arrived today too. Standard delivery

  • Oh FFS !

Amazon keep pushing the date back. Now expected to arrive between 5-9 July.

    • Ouch. People from the other deal received theirs already. Give them a call and see why?

  • Now pushed back to 20 July!!

Have emailed a complaint. Not expecting them to give a damn though >:(

    • Their phone contact wasn't working so did a chat and looks like it is sorted. They couldn't give me an explanation on why they stuffed this up but they have sent it priority post. Hopefully it will arrive in a day or seven!

      • Arrived today! Crappily packaged and it didn't even need a signature for collection. Not impressed Amazon >:(

        • Mine wasn’t too badly packaged, but they did leave it without a signature. Was away until the next day so had to get my brother to pick it up.

        • Mine was the same. It's their policy to leave without signature apparently

  • Mine arrived this morning, but it seems that it is having this issue "Your network is good but there are some xbox service issues" for set up. Does anyone have the same problem with the brand new xbox console?

    • Sometimes. In the network settings part, go to advanced setting, MAC Address > Clear settings

Or something along those lines, it will restart your xbox and you will need to search your wifi network again. That should make it work. Also resettting your modem works sometimes
