    Qualcomm MSM8928 Snapdragon 400

Welcome to 2013. Seriously, its the specs of the orginal Moto G, except 5 years late and only a couple dollar cheaper.

    • Who wants to spend $159 for 5 years old tech new phone? :):)

  • Actually the snapdragon 400 in this is different than the one in the moto g, the moto g used Qualcomm MSM8226 (slower chip). The moto g first gen didn’t come out 5 years ago, it was released at the end of 2013. It also was only 1gb and 8gb of storage for the cheaper model. It also used inferior cameras, didn’t support as many bands as this, used a smaller screen etc. I agree that the HTC is poor value compared to some other offerings at this price point, but it definitely different to the original moto g. Most of the gains in recent years on these cheaper models have come with the screen and the cameras, some of these lower tier phones are actually using snapdragon 210, which is actually slightly slower than the original snapdragon 400. At this price point it might make sense for the oem to trade off a slower chip for an extra gb of ram or higher quality of screen or perhaps a better selfie cam.

  • Should I get this htc for the grandparents?? I was after aussie stock $160 and under.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated if anyone thinks this is poor value??

Feel free to suggest please 😊 TIA
