Hi everyone,
The last deal I posted for the Thorfire C8S Kit: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/381454 seemed to go really well, so here's another deal you might be interested in.

This light is half the size with half the brightness. It has a shallower reflector than the C8S, therefore it will have a much wider beam profile (meaning it's much better at lighting up the foreground instead of something hundreds of metres away)

One of the cool things about this light is that it runs on both AA batteries as well as 14500 lithium ion rechargables. It will however be much brighter on the lithium ion type battery (500 lumens as opposed to only 150 lumens on a AA)

I just ordered mine so there's not much more I can tell you about this light, but you can find a nice review of it here:

http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?433013-REVIEW-Thorfire-TG06S-(XP-G2-1xAA-14500)-(Pictures-Beamshots-etc-)

Again, everything you need to get started is within this kit: the torch, a 14500 battery and a charger.
If you prefer to just buy the torch without the battery and charger, you can find it here: https://www.amazon.com.au/ThorFire-Flashlight-Powered-Batter… and the 30% coupon code will work.

Any questions? Just ask :-)

  • It seems like it comes with an AA battery, not a 14500 one

    "1 AA batteries required. (included)"

    • +4

Definitely comes with a 14500 lithium ion battery :-)

Title: ThorFire Mini flashlight with 14500 battery and charger

    • "The light comes with 14500 button top battery and charger."

Great descriptions in your torch posts & so close to 100 votes on your first deal, I gave you an upvote to help get you there.

    • Thanks mate! What happens at 100 votes? I'm still so new here, been lurking for years though :-)

      • +3

You get a popular deal badge. Already + your first deal so couldn't get it to 100. At 99 now

    • +3

Here you go OP. Have a + on me! Well done mate!

        Thanks so much!

  • Similar price on Banggood without the shipping fee (just the flashlight)

    • Get it in 4 days not 4 weeks here ;-)
It’s a much better deal with the kit in my opinion

      • Its AU warehouse

        • Link says US and China warehouse available?

Thanks op, don't need a torch but maybe now I do. I hate this site :P

        • @marantz:

          You’re welcome mate!

  • +1

    PWM flickers is noticeable :(

    • Is this a bad thing? Was just about to order.
Do any of these kind of torches not have any PWM?
      Thanks.

      • +1

Some people are sensitive to it, some aren’t. In the OP the person that reviewed the light said it wasn’t too bad, and doesn’t exist at all in highest mode. Generally PWM is more noticeable in lower modes.

  • Can it be attached to a key ring? Just a bit hard to tell.

    • +1

It can be, but it’s not ideal. I’d be looking at smaller lights than this for a keychain light, like the Nitecore Tube.

      • +1

Legendary. Thankyou friend. Might still get one, and just find a purpose :) , cheers.

        • +1

Hahaha, and before you know it you’ll have like 20 torches like I do!

        • +1

          @Lionheart: Another upvote for you Lionheart. I don't have 20 torches…yet.

  • but it has fire in the name, so it scares me.

    • +1

      Thor will protect you

    • Doesn’t come with an extinguisher sorry :-P

  • Should note that it appears to always start up at maximum output and you have to step down through the modes, it has no memory of the last used mode.

Kind of destroys your night vision for a short while when you turn it on.

    • Or just put your hand over the end of the torch as you flick it into lower modes, works for me :-)

      • +1

I have the VG15S, (not much bigger, twice the output), from this deal … much prefer not having to screw around selecting a mode when I first turn it on.

Only mentioned it in case people didn't realise.

  • I had one for a while and it was great. Gave it away to a friend when I realised I had too many lights. Still going strong by all accounts

    • I’m really hanging for mine to get delivered, looks like a great edc light.

  • Can I get a belt pouch for this torch?

    • +1

Your best bet would be to find a generic one that suits the dimensions of this light, I'm not aware of any Thorfire lights that come with a belt pouch sorry bud

      Example: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313…

It's a touch under 10cm long this light, so just go with something that accommodates 10cm torches

  • Is this waterproof?? Planning to take this when crabbing

    • Yep, submergible to 2m

  • Got mine today, damn it's good for it's size! Amazon shipping FTW!

    • +1

I knew you'd love it! I only recommend excellent BFYB torches!
