LG 34" 21:9 2560x1080 Full HD UltraWide IPS LED Monitor (34UM69G) for $396 Shipped @ Kogan

130

Cheapest 34" Ultrawide that has IPS display I can find at the moment. Not bad for $396.
I believe it can be combined with the free shipping offer that is currently ongoing.
Can also be combined with a new account for the $10 referral credit

Monitor is capable of up to 75Hz so not bad if you're not in the market for a monitor for productivity.
For those who think 1080p is not enough for a 34inch, you're paying half the price of a 1440p UW.

  • Cannot combine with kogan voucher as its $30 off $500 spend. Unless you're getting something to make it to $500.

Better to get one with 1440p.

    • more than double of this price unless you're going 16:9

  • Would this be ok for gaming?

    • +1

A bit of pain since some games don't have Ultrawide resolution option for Graphic settings.

      • Thanks. Ill give it a miss then. Was also going to say how much extra strain will this put on my hardware compared to my 1920x1200 16:10 res.

        • yes its extra strain, expect a 20-25% drop in FPS as there are that many more pixels.

        • @daleyboy79: Nowhere near that of a 1440p monitor tho. Any card running OK at 1080p should have no problem with the resolution. If you have an AMD card you can also take advantage of Freesync.
Most people seem to be able to run this monitor at 80Hz. 80Hz is a huge improvement over 60Hz for gaming.

Most modern games do though. And if not there's always workarounds https://www.flawlesswidescreen.org/

Once you go UW, you won't go back :)

    • YES … ive got the slightly higher spec LG with same res … absolutely love it for PUBG.
Also great for watching movies in cinema aspect, no more black bars top and bottom

      • Which one do you have?

    • +2

I use this for gaming and its perfectly fine. Haven't encountered a game yet that doesn't support the 2560x1080p resolution.

    • I bought 32" 21:9, so far a LOT of games support it. Even those that don't aren't a problem.
Flying down the tree-lined back straights in F1 are FREAKIN amazing.

      • But this isn't curved so don't bother….

        • just curious which 32" 21:9 curved that you have

    • It’s great for gaming. I play pubg on a gtx 1060 6gb score 75 FPS on ultra/high settings. Some frame drops recently when entering buildings and pressing “I” but that’s more of a patch problem than hardware as I wasn’t getting that before.

Image quality is excellent, only thing I regret is not waiting 1 week for extra $50 off

    • I have a very similar model, great IMO for gaming (on a budget)
I mostly play FPS, all the big titles have supported, even if Fallout 4 needed a little tweaking…

    • once you played ultrawide gaming, you will never come back to 16:9 gaming. And recent most of games are supporting ultrawide. even old game Crysis supports ultrawide.

was considering this , but it's not curved

    • Curved is about double the price same specs

      • pretty sure $1k is 3440x1440 curved

Pixels the size of a fist at that size/res.

    • It’s actualy not. Pixel density is about the same (a little less) than standard 24/25” 1080p monitor

  • Would you be able to see the individual pixels with the naked eye at this size/res ?

    • Generally unnoticeable. It’s clearly less sharp than my old ultra sharp 24” dell at 1920x1200, but I would say acceptable

    • depends how far away from your eyes

  • Good price I paid $500

  • 1080P looks absolutely rubbish on anything bigger than 27". I would hate to see what it would look like on a 34" screen.

The extra $350 for 1440P is well worth it in this case.

    • It's basically the same as a 27" in regards to pixel size I think: http://www.displaywars.com/27-inch-16x9-vs-34-inch-21x9
I don't notice individual pixels on mine, but do sometimes wish I'd got a curved one. But $$$'s.

    • same pixel density as a 25" 1080p. if you had the two monitors next to each other you wouldnt be able to tell difference in sharpness

    • give a maximum AA then you won't realise the dots.

  • deciding between this of save up more for 1440… decision decision.
casual gamer, only play fps (crysis, fallout, farcry) and MMORPG.
Spend most time web browsing or movie/drams watching with both windows on left and right.
currently only have 22" 1050. so any would be an upgrade for me. Have been using the same monitor for 10 years :/

  • looks like $399 @ Computer Alliance, MSY and MWAVE.
