I've gotten 2 at GAME. One was $10 and the other was $8, so I'd suggest that you try there first.

I've seen these but could never work out what they are used for!

  No. As i said i got myself one. It works with only a few games, and the Wii Speak Channel. The sound quality is crap, and i honestly don't see a real use for it. I have only used it once.
  
  They are so cheap now because they never really took off so Nintendo are going to discontinue them.
