I hated the first one. I got through the first mission thing and never played it again. Is this one any better?
I also really disliked the first one - much too repetitive. However, I loved the second one. And from what I've heard Brotherhood is also excellent.
Im pretty sure most people disliked the first one, me included.
I played the 2nd one and loved it, however, when i got brotherhood, i found it was more of the same old, same old from AC2.
If you are not sure, if i was you, stick with AC2. its cheaper and a lot like brotherhood.
BTW this is a rly good price.
If by 'first one' you mean AC1, then I'd suggest you play AC2 and then move one to Brotherhood (this is the sequel to AC2).
Assassin's Creed 2 was a fantastic game, I too got tired of the repetitive missions of Assassin's Creed (1) but loved AC2. Waiting to finish Mass Effect 2 before I get this one.

Absolutely loving it at the moment, very happy the sequel is out performing the original (which was a great game as well).
