The way eBay is running I would not be surprised that they will offer 2 or 3 months free eBay plus in the future.

Will stay on for at least the initial $29 yearThat's my plan. I do buy from Ebay at least once a month. With many sellers now decoupling their postage out of their pricing (and some taking clear advantage of it and offering the discount to us) it may work out well at least in the short term.
However, if the sellers just keep their prices including postage and offer free postage (or worse keep the same price and just add on a postage charge) then I wont bother with it beyond the first year.
I just can't get my head around the concept of paying to get a good deal. It started with 'Club Catch' and now more businesses are going with this model. Oh, I have to pay a monthly fee to buy things from you (at a good price)… hard pass. I know there are some other 'privileges' but to me personally, they aren't worth it.
For me, it is against every OzBargain instinct to 'pay' for deals. I'm surprised it so popular. We'll see if it is still popular after the free trial period.
Agree…People used to complain that Costco deals weren't deals cause you had to pay for membership. This is the same thing - only difference is eBay Plus is free for the time being - and you front up to a counter to cancel in person.
Will keep it till the end of first year. So far I've already saved $30 in delivery from places I would've bought from with or without eBay Plus so I am currently breaking even.
Immediately withdrew the paypal authorisation after signing up for free month, that way I can't forget and get charged.

eBay are absolutely going to make the deals for plus very good once the free period is over. They are going to need to entice users to pay for plus then and the best way for that is to make Plus have big value.
I agree, I’m sure they’ll have more 15% off style sales again. I reckon it’d be worth the first $29 for sure.

So far I think it has been worth the Free/$29 for the first year. Hoping for another eBay plus discount… tomorrow, so I can buy things before going overseas.
