    What's the saying
If it's free then you're the product?

    Downloaded anyway

      Does it work?

  • +8

I think this is a app and paid VPN service in one so I'd feel pretty sorry for anyone who had already paid $24 for it now that a bunch of free users will jump on. And if they are giving it away for free then they are making their money some other way.

    • Yep, has IAP.

      • What's IAP?

        • In App Purchase

  • Website doesn't even resolve

  • Works for Singapore

Gee free vpn. Nothing dodgey at all going on here.

Probably safer not having the VPN.

    Does work with BBC Iplayer.

  • review did not show it is a genuine VPN

The Play Store's "Apps on Sale" section is being gamed - it currently includes "w24w_Test_DF_02" (a test app) and "Anka Mobile Correct Score Tips" ($184.99, reduced from $299, with '1+' install).

  • Also hasn't been updated since September 2017.

Has several bad reviews saying it's fake and that is harvesting social media accounts, ymmv

  • Bad idea, best to avoid.

  • Seems legit.
Check out the screenshots of the FAQ section lol.

    • I like the one of the contact us screen. They must have put a lot of thought into it.

  • I wouldn't bother with 'free vpn' especially when it's only been downloaded 5000 times.

  • FREE to Probe Users Privacy

  • Yeah, no thanks.

    This is a scam app.

    • +2

      Agreed.

Most of the positive reviews with no comments were made over a few days.

      • I guess it would be pretty easy to get people to download a scam app, give it some reasonable feedback, post it as a big saving, get someone else to post it like this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/378688 and then watch the downloads tick over

Tried it on one of my referral code phones.
    https://wtfismyip.com shows my real IP.
The reviews saying it's a scam are probably correct.

    • Thanks, will avoid

    • I don't think it's a scam, it's just buggy. I can't get it to connect to the default LA location but other VPNs in the list work.

  • Working, but very slow speed's, 10 Mbps , turned it off, up to 80 Mbps. But it's free you get what you pay for.

    • Get nothing for nothing?

  • Does this work if you activate this on your phone and then tether to your laptop?

    • I've had no.luck tethering other devices through the VPN. Using the inbuilt hotspot stuff, clients can connect but don't get internet. Or.possibly, they get internet but not through the VPN. Last time I tried was a while ago though, I've seen that the official PIA app and maybe others now support per app rules for using the VPN, maybe if you assign the program meant to handle hotapots to it, it might work.

This app is free though, I dont recommend free VPN services but as long as you gonna ask it anyway, install on tablet and turn it on once you've tethered to your phone. I KNOW that works.

  • App version is 1.0.0 and hasn't been updated since October 2017.

This worked great for me. Haven't been able to use the Pandora radio app since they stopped in Australia but this got me up and running again by changing to a U.S server.
    Thanks OP!
