Good for snow? Water proof?
If your talking skiing, not not suitable. Fabric won't withstand a fall onto icy snow (which australian snow is). Not waterproof either.

A black one from Kathmandu (and most importantly, only black) is the new winter uniform for every teenager (and their mum) here in Melbourne. If Kath and Kim was still on, this is what they'd be wearing for their epic travel adventures, a shopping trip to Fountain Lakes.
To be fair, Kathmandu isn't exactly known for their great colour schemes. I'd prefer the pure black colour over the swathes of strange colour (e.g. pink/blue) combinations that they offer..
It's Melbourne, of course the jacket is black. The weather has been pretty cold to start Winter this year - I got a down jacket from Macpac and it is sooooo warm.

i bought my down jacket from hong kong. North Face is Better quality imo
