10% off Google Play Gift Cards at Coles June 27-July 3

1020

So it's not much of a discount, but it beats no discount!

Maximum 10 cards per transaction. Not available at Coles Express or Coles Online (or Coles Wynyard for those fellow Sydneysiders who work nearby I reckon).

but it's a real discount, not points, so that's handy

I was going to mention that in my description, but didn't want to cause a kerfuffle by basically implying that points weren't good haha (I'm a sucker for the bonus points which is why I have way too much Opal credit …)

    Damn. No 20% off.
Ah well. Looks like I'll have to buy these.

Last 20% off I recall was waaaaay back in December from Coles

  • Can I pay for this using a Coles eGift card?

    • Yes

    • Maybe check the card - my one says

Cannot be used to purchase alcohol, tobacco, phone cards or other gift cards.

I might try it with a small amount first.

      • Just tried but they wouldn't take the egift card for payment - don't know if you might have better luck at a self serve checkout?

    • Can confirm I used a e-gift card via the self check out for $200 vouchers

  • How come Coles Wynyard is different from the rest?

    • +1

They’re like a Coles Express store like the one on King St; they don’t usually participate in catalogue specials like the one in World Square

  • Does ow price beat gift card ?

    • +1

Yep, they usually reduce their price to match so get in quick

      • Would they price beat only the first one, or all (e.g. if you buy 6)?

In Australia date format is DMY, so date in title should read 27 June - 3 July

    • yes

    • Thank you for your very insightful contribution … What is with your obsession on how the date is written in posts?

      • -2

because you wrote July 3 (American standard) so would you write 7/3?

        • +1

If you feel that strongly about it, feel free to report it so a moderator can fix the title as I sure ain’t changing it just to appease your finicky taste. Personally, I haven’t done anything wrong, nor did anyone express confusion on the starting date of the deal. Feel free to report this deal too because they wrote July 7 instead of 7 July …

Plus June 27 looks better than 27 June in my opinion.

@kerfuffle: Can i just say, your choice of date structure in the post was in fine form.

        • @andrgram: Thank you! :) I thought so too, and it appears that the mods agree as well as no action has been taken on the report someone submitted regarding Title/Description.

  • Can these be used to pay for a subscription that is normally direct debited? i.e. Google music subscription.

    • -1

You might need to play around with the payment settings (Netflix is a pain to do) but yes you can. I use my Google Play Gift Cards to pay for my Netflix, Dropbox and Microsoft Word subscriptions

      • can you share some details on how to pay for NetFlix?

I could not find any options in the app or on payments.google.com

        • +2

I had to cancel my Netflix account and sign up under a different one in order to do this, but (as far as I'm aware) Netflix Australia no longer do any billing via Google Play credit, you'll need to sign up to Netflix using a VPN for a country that does allow Netflix to be paid via Google Play credit, such as Hong Kong (back when I did it six months ago). You can then choose to pay via Google Play credit.

          Hope this helps!

Great. Thanks OP. Been waiting for some sort of discount on Google Play Cards for a long time!

  • +3

Thanks OP. Nice guy at Officeworks on Hunter Street processed this tonight with the additional 5% price beat.

  • +3

Thanks OP, took this to OW and they honoured their pricematch policy. Got $100 credit for $85.50, I suspect if people keep price matching they will also go 10% off.

    • +1

      I just did the same. $85.50 for 2 x 50 cards.
Staff had to confirm through multiple managers and still they were very hesitant to give the price beat.

      • Had the same issue. They're hopeless!
