    no hood no deal

    • It has a hood!

Then it's all good with the hood?!

    • It's what's under the hood that matters

  • Never heard of Outrak brand before. Whats the quality and sizing like?

    • The colombia deal last time was bloody big. Got the medium and it feels much larger than that.

    • I've found them to be very good for the price. With goosedown jackets (this deal is for a poly fill), I prefer Outrak over the base macpac base range which I also have a few of. They feel better overall and the fabric is less shiny/crinkly. Sizing in the past has been on the larger size, I'm normally a medium but the small is a better fit.

Been a few deals posted in the past:

      • Is goose down better than poly fill for warmth and weight?

        • +2

Heaps better but generally bulkier based on design needs of what people are after when they want a warm goosedown jacket. I've got a slim goosedown jacket, which is great, but don't tend to go on special often. I find it about as warm as a marginally thicker polyfill jacket (that did have thicker and better shell material also).

I've been getting a couple of goosedown jackets every year over the last few years. They pay for themselves with the savings in heating bills a few times over.

        • @c0balt:thanks for the info. Wondering if this will be enough for the cold we been having in Sydney lately or if I should get a goose down

        • @marantz:

IMO everyone south of Sydney on the east side of Aus needs a good thick goosedown jacket for winter.

This one is more for the style/function of a 2in1 than it is for warmth.

    • I have an outrack puffer (not this specific one)and the quality is excellent

  • Is still in stock? Everytime i submit the order it says item in the cart is not available.

    • Yes, still in stock (I can add to cart after selecting a colour and size) and available in store.

I'll be picking mine up during a break shortly, had it delivered to a store pretty close for free pickup.

The good thing about that is I can try on other sizes/colours in store incase I'd prefer another.

  • I picked mine up today. It's quality, I really like it.

I also got one of the outrak goosedown jackets for $99. They are normally around that price on early winter specials, that go down to $79 during the end of winter and $49 when the weather starts warming up again. But by the time the $49 sale swings around, stock is pretty limited and you are lucky to get a colour you like in a size that fits.

    • Was thinking of getting this to survive winter :p

You mentioned they go a size larger. So if I'm a large normally to get a medium?

      • +1

Easiest way would be to go in store to try on if you can, but they have free shipping on orders over 99 I believe.

That's one that I got yesterday. They are designed to be worn with jumpers underneath, so if you are normally a large it's possible even a small would be a better fit if you don't want to wear layers and layers underneath it. I'm normally a medium, and even the small men size is too baggy for the fit I'm after when it comes to those full sized jackets.

I cheat the system a little bit. The slim jackets are $150+ but I've found that with outrak, the ladies size 10 with those big jackets fits me like a small mens size small slim jacket. The sleeves are a couple of cm short though, as to be expected, but I prefer that over them being too long and bagging up.

        • Thanks! Ordered size M
the store in Sydney is too far for pickup
