[PC] Steam - Portal 2 - 90% off, $1.99 USD (~$2.69 AUD)

830

I found this game when I was looking for a game that I would be into that I could also play with my kids.

Combine a first-person style game with puzzles, a great story and a sense of humor and you have Portal 2. I highly recommend it.

Here's the Steam description:

Portal 2 draws from the award-winning formula of innovative gameplay, story, and music that earned the original Portal over 70 industry accolades and created a cult following.

The single-player portion of Portal 2 introduces a cast of dynamic new characters, a host of fresh puzzle elements, and a much larger set of devious test chambers. Players will explore never-before-seen areas of the Aperture Science Labs and be reunited with GLaDOS, the occasionally murderous computer companion who guided them through the original game.

Portal 2 is my favourite game ever, I have about 180 games in my steam library.

      what… is that all?

      • +13

yeap and play about 3 of them :P

        • +2

          sounds about right

    • I agree, I really hope they plan on making a 3rd game.

valve isn't too big on 3rd games.

      • not quite the same, but they did make the portal bridge builder game

        • although that was made by a different developer rather than Valve

  • +2

Yeah, awesome game. All the valve games are on 90% discount, so you can buy the complete valve pack for 20 bucks or so. Half-Life, great stuff.

Both Portal and Portal 2 are amazing games and if you are a gamer of any kind, it's kind of a right of passage to play them at least once.

Portal 1 is about 1-2 hours long, with not much replayability.

Portal 2 took me 6 hours to complete the first time I played it, could take 10 hours max.

Portal 2 also has a multiplayer mode (which Portal 1 doesn't have)

A bit bittersweet every time I see mention of this game. Sweet in that it is just an absolute masterpiece and one of the best games of all time. Bitter in that valve has become solely focused on steam with no plans for sequels of these amazing IPs. So sad to see these games just die off without any additional plans for fleshing out the lore.

      Half life 3 confirmed

        Portal 3 also confirmed.

I also bought this to play with my son . Many hours of mind bending fun .
So hard to find games that they want to play that are age appropriate .

      I couldn't agree more

Fantastic game. Especially love the 2nd half when the gels come into play. Honestly I'd be way more excited for a Portal 3 (or even a spin-off), than a Half-Life 3 at this point.

  • +1 for Steam OS support, bought it.

    • no offense but why would anyone use steamos over other linux distros like mint or manjaro?

      • None take. Antergos actually but I just look for 'Steam OS support'.
        Manjaro is buggy af btw.

        • ah I see
everytime I see someone mention steamos turns out they only mean for the game support and they don't actually use it
i wonder if anyone actually uses it

        • @Basimx: Yeah, not much point in using actual steam OS when you can install Linux, and run steam + wine and non-gaming apps.

Wow you found Portal! What a unique and hidden gem!

  • Bought prev for $5 and didn't play :(

    • Play it!!

One of my favourite games of all time. You can get both portal 1 and 2 for an extra 23c for those that want both. I think if you haven't played it yet, definitely get portal 1 and play first, it really introduces the mechanics of portal and builds the glaDOS character (… and cake!). https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/234/Portal_Bundle/

    • portal 1 has no steam os though :(

    • -1

      There is no cake!

      • +2

Should marks as a spoiler alert.

        • A spoiler for a game released in 2007?

        • @Ugly: yeah I haven't played it yet

  • Valve prints money now. They don't care about game development which is a shame

  • Classic, amazing game. Play 1 and 2.

  • Definitely worth getting if not in your library. Great game.

  • Love Portal, such a classic!
