Bulla Ice Cream Sandwich/Frozen Custard Varieties $3 (Was $8) @ Coles

1490

A whopping 62.5% off! Possibly the best price ever for these.

They are on the sweeter side, but still a very good icecream sandwich.

Creamy Classics Classic Frozen Custard varieties also on special. Thanks RichardL.

Brave the colder temps and stock up!

  • I bet I get down to my Coles and it's not on special like what they usually do with all their good deals.

    • probably just an coles online deal

      • +1

Happened multiple times. Often they change the specials based on where you live too.

Even things in the catalogue I was receiving were wrong once.

    • +1

Was just in my local Coles and they had these for $3,as well as the tubs of frozen custard (normally $8 too)

    Erhmagawd….need a deal on a large freezer

  • +3

The Bulla Frozen Custard 1L and the Bulls Custard Stick 6 Pack are also the same price.

    • Added!

    • Do you rate the frozen custard?

      • +4

        It on the sweeter side.

        • +1

Totally agree. I have a sweet tooth - this is the one thing I think is just crazy sweet. Not sure why they made it so sweet, really doesn't need to be that way

I actually mixed cocoa powder through it to add some bitterness and help balance it out. Much better and become more chocolate flavoured obviously :P

I wouldn't buy it again tho.

      • I find the Coles brand 1L Frozen custard to be better than Bulla's 1L. And for some reason, the custard sticks are a different custard to the 1L tubs and are terrible

        • Oh the custard sticks are beyond bad… They go crazy soft in the freezer (have to use a spoon to eat it). Taste shocking

      • +3

I don't like it. Nothing special.

      • +1

It's crap.. Tastes like nothing.. Wasted calories IMO.

  • How do these compare to maxibons?

    • +7

I like maxibons a lot better, these cookies have a very gritty sugary bite to them

    • +2

depends on whether you throw the other half out or not

She always finds a way back in :-(

        • +1

And when she finds this comment Kahn you will never be back in or online either.

    • +2

Unlike maxibons, these have real ice cream in them, and not ice confection.

    • +3

      To summarise all answers:
The biscuit is unpleasant, but the ice cream bit is good.

Why can't an ice cream sandwich excel in both?

      • Yes, the biscuit part isn't as soft as it should be.

        • It’s weird that you say that, last time I had the chocolate ones the cookie was soft and chewy. I really enjoyed them but to each their own.

        • I had another pack and it was ok. Seems to vary strangely.

    • +2

Biscuit is pretty bad. Sugary crunch and I think like a coconut texture. In my view the worst Ice Cream cookies available. Wish streets would bring back their version. The best by far.

      • I'll give it a miss then haha

    Thanks OP.
Just in time, I was looking out for a deal on Android operating systems.

    /s

Aldi Polar Bars are better, and cheaper.

  • How does this compare to Maxibon ?

    • +2

Well these are round and maxibon a rectangular shape.
Maxibon also has the 2 different outter textures where this one has the same biscuit.
I just compared the shape and outter texture.

  • And this my friends is how obesity begins…

Excuse me a moment whilst I just nip out to my local Coles

    • +6

Bunnings has free trailer hire as well ;)

  • Oh nice that's as cheap as the Coles brand!

  • +1

    Confirmed available in store….Minty goodness!

  • +1

The Coles brand is way nicer in my opinion. The honeycomb flavour is delicious!

  • +1

Not a fan of these. Way too sweet!

  • +2

I think they’re selling for $4 at Woolworths for those who prefer to shop there or can’t get to a Coles. I find they’re very sweet and much prefer the Coles-branded ice cream sandwiches or the Aldi equivalent; both are excellent and have a low everyday price

  • These have been on sale so much since they were introduced. No way they're worth full RRP.
I always have 2 when I have them because they're kinda small.

  • i love these ice cream sandwiches. i just ordered 12 (max) onine of vanilla and double fudge!

  • What happened to the Monaco Bar? Discontinued?

  • Thanks OP.

  • Deals 4 days!
    Nice one, thanks for sharing

  • +1

I love the chocolate ice cream sandwiches!

  • $4 for me

    • I was also lucky

Scanned at $4 and got it for free

Pro tip - get all 3 varieties and get them all free

    • Also scanned at $4 for me and it took a bit of argument on my part to get it for $3. The Coles staff said that the online price doesn't necessarily match the in-store price, however it's always been my experience in the past that the in-store specials match the online specials… Is that an incorrect assumption to make in the future?
