Problem buying from Aliexpress

http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2667529&p…

For the love of god and all Mankind do NOT purchase anything from Mi Global on Aliexpress.

The seller has previously failed to send items which i have had to chase AliExpress to obtain. Should have known better but asked to cancel a recent transaction to which he agreed.

10 days later and still no response and no refund. Approx $600 out of pocket

Avoid the store and the owner Jack Ma like the plague

Was thinking to get Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 (Gold Color, Global Version) 6GB/64GB for USD $215.99(~AUD $290) + Free Shipping via DHL @ AliExpress

but above comment looks bad.

Any experience with this seller?

  • Have you lodged a dispute with Aliexpress? They are usually good with refunds.

I think OP was quoting a forum post - they don't have any issues with AliExpress, they're wondering if the forum post (that they linked) is indicative of AliExpress experience in general or an outlier.

Yep. It's almost like people don't bother to figure out how disputes on AilExpress work.

And the more you buy (number of purchases) the better they treat you.

You do realise that the Mi Global store on AliExpress and all others claiming to be Xiaomi are not Xiaomi themselves? Just resellers.

So Jack Ma decided to open an AliExpress store :)

After hitting net worth of $40billion, there's just nothing as satisfying as ripping someone off $600.

lol. "Avoid the store and the owner Jack Ma like the plague"

You've still got a lot to learn.

  • Approx $600 out of pocket

Why wouldn't he just lodge a chargeback with his credit card company?

  • last week i cancelled a small (US$1.76) transaction before it was processed. i received an email saying that i should receive a refund within 3-15 working days. so it might take a while.

    • You should have let it go through just to watch customs hunt you down for 17c in tax. Best value entertainment on the planet.

      (edit, damn I'm a week early. ;) )

  • buy from a different seller, check the rating and number of sales from the seller. Never had a problem.

If you dont like Jack Ma, watch his youtube movie. He can win a fight against ip man, tony jaa, jet li, and a few other people. Itll encourage you to shop there. Bezo's only fights the tax rate and gerry harvey

  • I've bought from HK Goldway on AliExpress without issue, but have not tried a warranty claim.

  • I have bought 3 phones from Mi Global. No issues for me.

  • I bought xiaomi mi 8 from Mi Global yesterday when the cashback was 10%.
The order went through but later after 14 hours my order was cancelled by AliExpress saying i need to verify myself before placing order.
Now asking for ID and the card i used.

The annoying part is, even if i provide them with the required docs, i won't be able to get 10% cashback. Additionally GST will now be added as well.
    So not happy from them

  • Bought Pocophone from Mi Global 2 months ago. Still no show. Anyone else?

Edit: Apologies it was Xioami MC Store

    • Hi, I too bought this phone from this deal but did not receive it

I raised a query with AusPost who called me saying it never arrived in Australia, just asked them to put it in an email so I can add it to my Aliexpress dispute as evidence.

I lodged a dispute last week… still waiting for the outcome..

Have purchased Xiaomi phones from Aliexpress in the past.. but never again..
