  • Any good? Can anyone speak from experience?

    • There's no way it's $240 normally.

I would not trust the VPN server.

Only 20 connections (probably only an issue for people using NBN or remote servers to download)

    • Fast (Sydney), reasonable service, VPN patchy on Mac. I paid $80USD to renew/year. I am happy. Edit: PS, very happy with retention

  • Thanks, its seems to be a different backbone to my current providers, so will give it a go.

It also says you a 60% life time discount..

    • -1

Where'd you find the backbone (upstream provider) info?

    • Where can you find the lifetime offer?

      • +1

when you select the offer, the next page shows it.

        Your Plan Includes:
        60% Lifetime Discount
        Unlimited Downloads
        Free Unlimited Usenet Search
        Unlimited Speed
        20 SSL-Secured Connections
        US and European Server Access
        FREE Zero-Log VPN Included

Note this isnt a lifetime subscription, but 60% off the annual fee..

  • Do you really need VPN when usenet offers SSL connections?

  • +3

The VPN bundled with this subscription is a standalone product separate from the Usenet service.
You are correct in that with SSL your NNTP(Usenet) traffic content is private. Your ISP can still see your connections and data usage to your Usenet provider but not the content.

  • Could this be a way around the SOPHOS software that locks down almost everything being accessed via the server I use? Paying a crapload for wireless data atm and it's killing me

  • +4

Newshosting has a similar deal @$50 USD a year but with 30 connections if anyone is interested.

    • Difference between having 20 and 30 connections?

  • tempting. very tempting. still finishing my block of 500g from usenetfarm sale a few days ago

    • Was the offer shared in ozb? Can't seems to find it? Thanks

  • Looks like the same backbone with astraweb that I already have *sigh… need to find another deal

  • Would this pair well with the other current deal on Bulknews whose provider is Abavia in the Netherlands?
