Not so fast. For me I use OSM based apps like this for two reasons:
      1) GPX tracking for my hikes, and also for checking out where I've wandered around a city
      2) and biggest, they do offline maps of Japan!

I personally haven't used this app in great detail yet as I've just moved to Android, but my initial tests show it looks pretty good! I think it'll get my money.

If you prefer google maps, you can download maps by what city you want when online to use offline.

  • Google maps does this for free

See above for reasons to use this over Google maps.

Chibots just a poor boy from a poor family

    • Then he should be using Google maps instead of paying $1.49 for this…

  • Google maps can track your route (timeline), navigate offline, etc and it's free.

  • No it can't goggle maps doesn't use OSM for the map base.

  • Dont pay for nav these days… :-(
Tried a few of them (Android) and found OsmAnd to be the most reliable for me. Runs great in the car head unit and the phones.
You can download maps for your state or the whole country. Can also d/l maps for other countries you may be visiting.
