  • Yippie!

  • Title now says 'in August' but I can see some Syd-Bri flights for $80 starting from 17 July. At work so screenshotting is a pain.

Cancelled and delayed flights? Yes please

    • Not sure why negged. Unfortunately, you are right.

Yeah our last flight was with Tiger and it was delayed by 2.5 hours. Tiger's compensation for that 2.5 hours wasted in our day was a miserly $5 airport voucher per person (i.e. $2 per hour). In 20/20 hindsight as we sat bored for hours in the airport, I wished that we had pricematched with Jetstar, as:
        a) it would be cheaper under Jetstar's price beat guarantee, and
        b) Jetstar's compensation for such a delay is a much more generous $100 voucher towards future Jetstar flights (voucher has 12 months expiry from date of issue), and
        c) they will put you on the next available Jetstar or Qantas flight, so you've usually got more flights than a smaller airline like Tiger, so therefore usually the delay is less, and
        d) the stats indicate that Jetstar is better than Tiger when comparing on-time performance (78% vs 73%), although both are short of Qantas (pretty good at 83%), and a long way short of Virgin and Qantaslink (both very good at ~ 89%) . See stats at: https://bitre.gov.au/statistics/aviation/otp_month.aspx#anc_…

      • It's ok, some people are just allergic to facts.

  • Need to go to Sydney end of this month from Melbourne. Any deals for July?

Buy Iberia Avios from Groupon, transfer from Iberia to BA, redeem with BA for Qantas flights. 4500 avios each way.

tiger post should be banned, they sell a product which 1/2 the time gets changed, canceled or delayed. Any other business this would be called scamming.

    • Why not this one? Ok, it's scamming. There. Done.
