  • Not the cheapest it’s been but these are great torches

  • Cheers OP, got a number of these - great little torches for the price.

Grabbed one more to add to the collection.

  • Great find Op. Was looking for a some small torches for my kids to use.

I am guessing that better to operate these with 14500 battery (rechargable Li-Ion) as 3.7V rather than single AA battery (1.5V) as would expect light output to be brighter.

    • +2

They are damn good with AA's, just use your eneloops. They hit a dip then a cliff on light output, so it's easy to know when a replacement battery is required.

    • Make sure that you use a protected lithium battery. If the battery fails you could have a pipe bomb.

      • Pretty sure the ones I bought were protected type.

Just hope the brand name UltraFire doesnt jinx it.

      • Bargain

    • Can't recommend 14500's, I've blown 3x Q5-based torches with them (wiped out 80+% of the die), so back to eneloops.

  • Features IPX-4 waterproof standard, it can keep your touch from splashing water from any direction….

Colour me confused but I still want one

    • +4

Chinglish can be confusing at times.

    • *safe from splashing water from any direction

    • +1

      Got one thanks.

I hate it when my torch splashes me from all directions.

  • +2

Paid $1.75 USD for some reason, but still happy.

  • +1

I have one in front of me right now, I would pay 3 times the price for it if it would not have the 3 modes…. I just want 1 on and off.

    • Have you tried searching for "1 mode zoomable" or "original sipik sk68" "cree zoomable" etc (without quotes)?

A couple of quick searches on Ebay, Gearbest, Banggood, DX etc turned up:

      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SK68-LED-350lm-1-Mode-Cold-White-Zoomable-Flashlight-Set/132674708062 (14500 only, apparently included, XPG Q5)

      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SIPIK-SK-68-260lm-White-Light-Zo… (AA only, XPE Q5)

      https://www.gearbest.com/led-flashlights/pp_149858.html?wid=… (AA, 14500, CREE "Q5" LED)

      http://www.dx.com/p/sipik-sk68-cree-q3-wc-120-lumen-convex-l…

The Ebay ones are more than 3x the price of Zapals but if you look harder I am sure you can find what you want.

    • Strange, none of mine the same as this one have modes.

      • It's the newer ones that have this.

I've only purchased from DX but my first few didn't have any modes (from ages back), the ones I ordered from DX earlier in the year have the strobe mode.

That being said, it's not a big deal, standard press is on/off. It's only when you "soft press" that it switches between strobe/low/high.

  • Ordered. Have noticed that Zapals charge 'tax' now (I assume GST) - presumably for compliance with shipping into Australia.

In reality is this being enforced now (by who ? Australia post ?)

    • It's not enforced but companies are supposed to register and collect it.

      • I thought as of 1st July 2018 it was meant to be 'enforced' ? I've simply noticed it because I now see USD $0.04 being added to a 40 cent item.. so the actual implementation sure is interesting…

My billing currency on zapals has been left as USD which perhaps is another thread - what's still the best currency to use for these low dollar purchases..

Is this the return of the daily torch specials? Love these lights.

  • Now I can fit one on my nerv gun too

  • It shows up as $8 when I go to the site.

  • So I have a 20 year old D cell mag light. Can anyone suggest a very bright new led torch for me that won’t break the bank?

      BLF A6

~1200 real lumens stock with a really nice UI for only $25. Make sure to pick up some Samsung 18650 30Q batteries.

      • What about one that takes non 18650 batteries?
        Thanks

        • Here's a list of popular lights for all kinds of batteries.

      • Thanks, are these rechargeable?

If so can i charge them in my eneloop smart charger?

        • The BLF A6/Astrolux S1 both use 18650 batteries and 18650 batteries are rechargeable albeit not with an eneloop smart charger. Refer to this guide for some good well-tested 18650 batteries. LiitoKala Lii 100 would be a good choice for a charger.

  • Looks nice but I already have a xiaomi power bank and one of those usb led strips so ill save 1 item of stock for somebody else and give this a miss.

  • $8.79 now.
    ? Deal over

  • Thanks, OP.

These are great little lights. Had a few for years. I keep one in a toolbox amoungst heavy tools and it still goes after being thrashed/oiled/watered. They seem easier to lose than break.

  • Code worked for me thanks !

  • OP should quote the price inclusive of USD 0.16 GST.

  • +1

Comes up as $$1.75 USD , $2.46 AUD on paypal

  • Thanks OP. Seemed like a great deal, so I gave it a go.

  • Just received mine from a previous, more expensive offer by Dresslily. Nice flashlight, took me a while to figure out which section to turn to open the battery compartment (the very last metal section with the button on it) since there were no grip indents on it to help identify.

Edit: Found out just now the mode sequence isn't high-off-low-off-strobe-off, but instead you can press the button down halfway to change the mode.

  • Got it delivered yesterday and now revoking my +1. I have a couple of these UK68 flashlights but this one feels like it's made with paper by machines with destroyed tooling.

It is also significantly less bright than deals posed in the past. At the narrowest beam the COB spot is also smaller and dimmer. The battery floats inside whereas in the previous one it actually fits inside.

It's just like any other $2 dollar LED flashlight as delivered, which is a shame because in the past the UK68 clones have been fantastic.
