  Note of course that it doesn't support USB3 transfer speeds, but otherwise it's a nice cable.

    Ive noticed that many usb c cables arent usb 3.0 … Get caught out when doing data transfers …..they love to just call them charge and sync not the speed.

      It's to lower the cost. A famous company recently did this:

      The company lowered the price of 1m USB-C to lightning cable, but to save cost, they completely removed all USB 3.0 data pins. Thus, the new "cheaper" version is now USB 2.0 only. You still get USB-PD fast charge. Obviously, they don't tell you this and just announced they lowered the price of the lightning to USB-C cable. What's this company?

      It's Apple. It's fine to get the new 1m lightning to USB-C Apple cable if you only have an iPhone 7/8/X, but if you have an iPad Pro, then you might want to think twice.
