Why would you need a spare vga, most it companies etc are throwing them away now

What the hell is this, who is buying all this spare crap. I have had loads of monitors, but never lost a cable. Are people just buying useless crap to fill an emptiness inside, or what?

        ^ Welcome to OzBargain!

I think zyc3 is the seller.

    • +1

I don't know if it can be confirmed, but looks a bit sus. zyc3 is located in perth, as is the ebay seller. It seems a random deal for anyone to bother posting without a vested interest.

However, I could be wrong, so no neg.

  • lol, still a good buy.
    nothing tops vga, my fav.

    • I'm with your wolfy, screw DRM over HDMI!

This is a decent deal if it's really local stock! ;)

No deal. $2.50ea posted from China. Chances are given the Oz seller only posts 2 days a week and comes from Perth, chances are that the one from China will come just a slowly anyway.

Also who even needs these? I have a plethora of them from every LCD I have bought in the last few years. DVI and HMDI are king now….

Will usually post within 1 business day of receiving cleared payment

Definitely be quicker than getting it from China. There are some people that live in Perth. :)
But agree that this isn't a bargain, just average price.

From the item description: "Items will be Posted on Monday's and Thursdays."

True some people are from Perth, vast majority are the East Coast…

    ahh haaa haa

    People still use VGA?

    • +1

You'd be surprised. Go to any DET institute, TAFE, government office, your local library, or university computer lab. They still use VGA cables…with 17 inch 4:3 aspect ratio screens.

      • haha yeah that's true, my school still uses VGA

    • +2

Most projectors I use when I need to do presentations are still taking only VGA/D-Sub cables.

    Wtf! fail!

    • I think this deal is for people who are impulse buyers. You know… "oh gee, I think I will buy a spare VGA cable, just in case errr… one of mine get attacked by hungry mice. In fact, I think I'll buy 2 of them, just in case the mice come back"

      LOL

  • Why would you buy VGA when there is DVI which is pretty much standard?

HDMI will slowly take over though I reckon.

  • -1

vga pretty much useless now and 6$ for 2 shitty cables isn't worth it.

  • +2

To the egocentric folks who negged & whined just because YOU don't have a use for VGA, there's a shitload of PCs, laptops, projectors and other hardware out there in the real world still in service that don't have HDMI or DVI ports thus will still require these cables.

Geez, try to think outside your own little boxes for once!!!

    • +1

There's also cheaper cables on eBay…..

      • At least that was a reasonably valid rationale. However, I still think even that's a bit of a soft neg as there's a significant difference between Aus stock & China stock, even with the wacky 2 day per week shipping thing you'd have these at least a week before China got their act together…esp as it's Chinese New Year ATM! ;)

  • Most of the people throw these cables away as have no use for them any more. Who would pay $6 for them? You can buy hdmi cables for this money.

  • Bargain fail is epic.

go around suburbs where there are hard rubbish waiting to be collected… and you can find vga cables everywhere… FREE!

Hanging out the back of old CRT monitors doesn't count mate…you ever tried solding a D-Sub???

      • edit: was thinking about DE-9, not DE-15F. DE-9s are much more fun to solder.
